I already saw that post earlier Brens and began replying, but I pulled out of it because I know it could get nasty. I thought of getting Chucken to reply as she is the only one to survive AH but decided to let the AH'ers get on with their whining about old folks, after all they will find out about it themselves at some (late) stage. I wonder what their grandkids will moan about.

pretty much what every generation moans about, the generation before them and how they are to blame for all that ails them

I predict that with advances in technology moving with ever increasing pace the gap will get wider and come sooner and the moaning will increase inline with that

    Os&Os,

Could I distract yiz from the fuhbollin' and the boozin' for a minute and ask yiz for some back-up?

There are "people" on that After Hours place deriding our ability to comprehend their Geek instructions on techno stuff - see "Helping people who are no good at computers".

So far, it's been a litany of martyrs detailing, in bad English, just how thick their parents are. I bravely stood alone against this tsunami of unoriginal prose and makey-uppy anecdotes for quite some time, defending us and our abilities, using exquisite logic and correct spelling. But there has been a long pause - it takes them time to get offended and to google some response - so I'm expecting some heavy violence from them soon.

So, if yizzar sober and still don't understand the offside rule, take a visit to AH and give them what for. Nerdy whippersnapper pups.

I agree with Looksee on this one. Let them bitch and moan all they want. I do not visit that forum so I don't care. THIS is the best place for us oulwans and oulfellas as it says on the top line. And thanks to OG for a place of refuge (and an ever easy to lockpick drinks cabinet)

Let us not try to start an interforum war. We may need those folks to help with the nursing home one day.

Yeah, treat them the way we treated our bickering toddlers. "No ice-cream until you behave, and have manners when you speak about your betters!" :D

Hi folks, go and sort them out by all means, but the off side rule states that we can't give out about another forum in this (or any other) one.

OK dear folks, I hear, obey, cease and desist.....but I did get a few stabs in before leaving.
It may have been the chemo talking - not much sleep last night and possibly getting offended on other people's behalf - but when I see stuff like "my mum is so stupid....." or "my uncle is too thick to understand what I tell him" I can't help turning it 180 degrees and bursting their "I'm so perfect, everyone is wrong except me" bubble.

Remember Dick Dastardly and Muttley? How do you spell the stuff that Muttley used to mutter in disapproval of Dastardly's actions?

There, there, Brens. I did give you a few 'thank yous' in AH in support, but I did feel just like you did. There was steam and sparks coming out of my teeth, but I managed to calm myself down. I think it was written just to 'bait' us!

P.S. I was never acquainted with either Dick Dastardly or Muttley. God, you must be a lot younger than me!

Cartoons and kids programs are my specialist subject. Try YouChoob for a taster at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwZ3Zk9KOlU. You may have to endure a tedious ad before Muttley appears - sorry, I don't know how to edit that out but, when you fall in love with Muttley and his under-the-breath mutterings, I could send you the box set.

    All together now:
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
    Stop that Pigeon
    How?

Nab him! Jab him! Tab him! Grab him!
    Stop that pigeon
    Now!

They don't write them like that anymore.

Yes, Muttley was a multi-talented actor, comedian, sniggerer, plane designer and builder, pilot and co-pilot, wingman, parachutist, much decorated for gallantry, theme song writer, pigeon-trapping trap builder, arms manufacturer - the list is endless. He didn't just say "sossajiz", he could string whole sentences together.

Tragic to see this talent being ignored by "some" boardies. Maybe when the fuhbullin' is over, you'll have time to explore this extraordinary thespian and techie genius mutt.

We're simple folk here at BrensBenz Manor - easily pleased - but yizzle never guess what we had for main course last night? New spudatoes, peas that we popped ourselves (nyom nyom) AND mackeral that were happily doing the backstroke off NCD yesterday midday, all cooked properly, without any addition of anything to do with Frawse or their queezeen, except for the slightest squeeze of a non-French lemon. Aaaahhhhhh!

Now, everybody knows that mackerals' visas to Ireland don't become valid until mid to late August - and I had flagged some visits to piers in my diary for next month - so just what's going on with THEIR calendar?

*throws another log on the fire and re-fills glass*

Have you gone mad OG? If so you wanna pop over here and try this:

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,551 ✭✭✭Rubecula

Twas young Chucken who introduced me to this band of Scottish folk players and I dug this out ready to welcome her and Mr Chuck home from their sojourn in foreign climes.

PS sorry to post a music video here in the peace and tranquility of O&O, but where else will she see it?

PPS also sorry for the sound quality on this one. :(

We're not home yet Rubes. In fact I'm seriously thinking of running up the hills and 'missing' the plane ;)

If only we had loadsa money :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,551 ✭✭✭Rubecula

Glad you are having fun Chuck.

PS if you run up the hills Nekkid you will certainly end up missing the plane .... and probably a fair few after that too. I am sure they will feed you at least once a day too. Those prisons may be rough though :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,303 ✭✭✭Ramette

Chucken please come home, I need someone to support me through these trying times of the Garth Brooks Saga - is he playing or not. My nerves are shot! As for running up the hill nekkid, watch out for plant scrubbing... They have a nasty habit of giving you an awful rash!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,551 ✭✭✭Rubecula

Rammy me dear, do you speak from experience?

I need photographic proof of same by the way :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,063 ✭✭✭✭looksee

I've read Chucken's post 3 times and I do not see any reference to her doing the hill running nekkid! Words are being put into her mouth...I feel she may be being led astray by people with agendas...

No best you don't answer that LOL
