I got those leaked review scores from the official http://forums.sleepingdogs.net/ but now the Community Manager is after is after deleting the link and apologising but on the plus shide he is working on other...things. I think he is on about a demo announcement as thats what everyon on the forums is screaming for.

nothing official yet,someone posted specs a few pages back but I don't think there the official specs,it would be great if they were because I have a gtx 260

Yeah they were the predicted ones from game-debate though I'd say they may be a bit higher (not GTAIV crazy) but then again it may be really well optimized game

There is an hour long hands on german vid on youtube as well but I've seen too much if it now, gonna try avoid anymore vids. Cockfighting looks gas, I def see peta going mad over that

From what i've seen so far it looks like it's an open-end city with the story strictness of Mafia 2 i.e. it forces you where to go though I may be wrong. Imo this would be the only way to force the story along.

They've also mentioned that you can free-roam around the city once you've completed the story which makes me think more Mafia 2 again.

Ya, the devs said they want to keep the story moving along but I've seen people given a mission but go off and do a side mission instead. I don't think it will be as strict as Mafia 2 was. Devs said main story will be 15-20 hours but it will take 70-100 hours to 100% it.

There has been a ton of gameplay vids and hands on previews, mostly from european countries, put onto youtube. These show a lot of pop in and glitches. Square Enix replied on the official forums with the below:

There's a huge performance difference between `burned` media (ie what i
create here for preview/review/shows) and actual manufactured
discs..

Manufactured discs get roughly 3x the performance, so anything
been shown in video clips currently is from people running of my burned discs
and even tho we HAD warned them they will get performance issues people watching
the clips wont know this.

Yeah same here. I've stopped watching/reading stuff about this game in case something gets spoiled as it sounds like quite a good story with a few nice twists.

Next thing I want to hear about this is a demo/system specs

If you have a Just Cause 2 save file on your hard drive, you will have access to Rico's outfit from launch. Wearing the outfit means you will be able to action hijack other vehicles from an even greater distance. Fairly cool.

HAHA no! Really trying to avoid it but can't help myself.

Hearing rumours the demo is being released next week. They will have to release specs before a pc demo anyway but it was seen on Steam, there will be a free Hi-Res dlc for sleeping dogs so looks like the PC version will be getting a nice treatment.

Very strange that nothing announced yet considering its out in a weeks time :eek: All I know is the download from steam is around 5-6GB so not crazy big... though that's prob not fully expanded size.

A square enix employee said on the official forums that the demo on steam was only meant to be a press / preview demo. They said it's a pity steam files are open like this because it may have given false hope for a demo. Saying that, there still might be a demo. At this point, I could do without one, just waiting to lash into the game.

In the thread below, people are asking about PC specs and one of the devs said he was told he could not tell people yet but he is basically confirming if people can play or not with their setup. If you read through the posts, you might find a similar setup to yourself.

From that forum apparently they found the (minimum?) specs on the japenese website which were not denied:

Glad that the game is DX11 supported (Bye XP!) which was mentioned earlier in that thread. Seems like game is well optimised though hopefully they sorted the GUI etc for mouse/keyboard.

Sleeping Dogs gets it's first official review score of a 9/10. Embargo is still up so they just gave their score and a few teasers like below.

Looks like you'd need a monster PC to get it running like above. Just one more week! Ton of walthrough vids online at the moment but no way am I even tempted to look at them, completely wreck any story and surprise that are left. Happy to sit and wait 7 days.
