Its not that bad a photo. If someone woke me up, stuck a camera in my face and took a photo when I was all dazed and dopey I'd look less than my best too.

I'd be very interested to see a photo of Brand himself without makeup and just woken up.:)

The problem isn't so much that makeup makes women look hot, it's when they're removing the makeup, they polish and scrub their faces to within a millimetre of the bone (you've seen the boots ads), which makes them look pasty and tired.

If they all just left it a week (obviously have showers and stuff), the colour and tone would return to their faces and they wouldn't need makeup.

In fairness it depends entirely on the woman. Some women have naturally good skin and genuinely can get away with it. An awful lot don't, though. I didn't wear makeup til my early 20s, at all, but my skin was/is quite dry and I have super-sensitive skin, so even just eating or lightly grazing the skin on my face with my fingers makes the skin around my mouth go bright red (you can tell from a mile away when I've been naughty! ). It's fine if I don't touch my face at all, but that's just not practical.

Everyone has very different skin types. My skin wouldn't improve even if I stopped using makeup. Foundation takes out the redness when it does arise so I look normal even if it's flaring up. It's just easier that way. I don't like looking like I've a big red moustache all the time.

Plus, makeup is fun.

But seriously, she is far from ugly. It is not a great picture granted, but who would looks their best pulling that sort of face whilst in bed? I mean FFS you would think she was Quasimodo the way some guys are going on here. She is a good looking girl. Sure she might not be to everybodies personal tastes, but she is a very attractive girl. I wouldn't kick her out of my bed for pulling that face anyway.

I'm starting to worry that what men now think women look naturally like, is us after an hour of carefully applying alot of make up.

Maybe we need to start going make up free. Men would probably fall over with the shock! "Oh my god! The beast in it's natural state!" haha.

Sorry IMO he is a dope. His standup is awful, I haven't seen Get him to the Greek but he didn't really act in Forgetting Sarah Marshall...it was like an emotionless performance anyway. I'd imagine he would have improved to be a leading man in the other one.

I haven't read his full books just excerpts and you'd think a randy teenager wrote them. A dopey one at that.

Listen to him rant, I assume you mean on Radio or in interviews. I've only heard him on Howard Stern but didn't find him to be a great guest really, Howard had to drag a lot out of him and he wasn't naturally funny or charming in any way.

Just my own opinion. Apparently he is a very charming guy in person...he must be if women are throwing themselves at him after he's bragged about bedding thousands and being a former heroin addict....he has to be crawling with diseases

Imo many women look prettier without make up than with all that stuff on their face. Its more natural.

A bit of eyeliner always helps! But slapping on an inch of stuff on your face just makes it look very artificial. Like those plastic models who pose for posters and all.

All but one of my ex girlfriends didn't use make-up. They look good without it. A woman I worked with didn't wear it to work but then did on a night out and look like a hooker...not so Fabulous.

Fair few girls I know look better with no make-up, though it doesn't come across as much in photos.

There is an American magasine which specialises in photos like this - it shows the celebs out shopping in track suits etc. showing them as normal, or ugly as possible. just makes the rest of us uglies feel better. If I were in charge of all my own photos I would always look gorgeous, unfortunately other people like to photograph me in drunken states, or bad light. The bastards.

Still though who doesnt look sh*t in that washed out crap flash from the modern camera phone.
