wondered how lombard was as short at 4/11 but now into 4/9 and
palhares cut to 13/8 from 2s which seemed very big
If it were possible i'd like to see both of these guys lose but on this
occasion i'd be happier to see palhares go home with lombards leg

great to have two nights of mma :D

back to the drawing board thanks to beltran

double tonite of varner and poirier
i fancy varner and think evens is a big price
after losing three of last four i think guillard will try to
win without taking any chance and confidence will be at
    an all time low

    What does this mean?

    What does this mean?
He probably means that because he's lost 3 of his last 4 (1 ko, 2 subs) that he knows he's probably close to being cut if he loses, so he might not take any risks and try edge a points decision.

    went for the double of
    belcher 10/11
jds by ko,tko or disq 4/5

hard to see past junior, good and all cain is
I just can't see how he is going to beat him

lumped on belfort at 10/11 with a small bet on
    belfort round one 9/2

cant understand the price especially in brazil
I think bisbing will be trying to survive in round one but when
he gets clipped by vitor he may well get put away
I'd be worried for vitor if he doesnt get the job done in the first
two rounds though as bisbing will have no problems going five but
again like i've said before about bisbing....his only possible way
of winning this is on points

I think anyone fancying bisbing should take the 5/2 on points

like gonzaga at 4/5 especially fighting at home against rothwell but
too much invested in the other fight

Gone for Bisping on points. It really is a coin toss though.

    should've done the double
vitor a step too far for bisbing

Nothing standing out valuewise for me tonite though i was
considering lumping on the dj/texeira double at just under evens
Neither i would call cast iron certainties though with rampage having
a cast iron chin and plenty of power
    small stake on this double
I fancy the cowboy at the prices but i don't know why...just a feeling i guess
It's a hard one to call but if it stays standing I think the cowboy
might just edge it but if pettis goes to ground it'll be fairly straightforward
    for pettis imo
johnson will beat dodson imo by points
it would be some effort by dodson if he won a belt despite not beating any top contenders as far as I can see up till now
you would think these two match ups will be great fights so hopefully
I havent just put the kiss of death on that

UFC Matches Demetrious Johnson v John Dodson

decent bet on the treble of overeem, evans and benavidez which
works out at slightly better than evens with ladbrokes

over and evans i see as close to certainties as you can get
think benavidez will gain a comfortable points win against
    mcall also

one other bet for a small stake which works out at 11/4 (lads)
    a bit of value

maia fitch to go the distance at 1/2 looks a cert to me
reshad little nog to go the distance 2/5
    benavidez 2/5
    overeem 5/19

not trying to be a bollocks, but i've made decent money over the past year on just betting against you (with a few alterations...) :D

Carmouche is 7/1 wit PP just to beat Rousey.

Ridiculous odds for a 2 horse race in MMA

Are you saying its ridiculous for any fighter (with a punchers chance say) to be 7/1...

...or ridiculous for Carmouche in this one.

she was 9/1 a few weeks ago, lumped a tenner on it, would love to see it happen

feel free to point it out beforehand
    anyone can say this afterwards

look back at the bets where ive gone big
did you go against them also and how much did
you lose in those instances?....nothing i suppose

maybe just put up some selections and quit boasting about
all this money you have made....beforehand of course

Prove me wrong over the year as im not a believer as you
dont post here often before an event

at the risk of sounding like a total douche, i had a double on guida and ferguson at 5/1. I just felt that guida would be able to suffocate pettis and that ferguson's wrestling was being under-rated.

only one prediction in the whole thread and guess what?
After the event as usual and that was the time you bet
    against me....Lmao

predictions for saturday please.....not on sunday evening if
    you please
we are all going to make a lot of money following you throughout
the year but its a shame you cant bet on an event when its over

Well, I'm going for an outlandish accumulator featuring:

    Watson

    Manuwa

    Ogle

    Nelson

    Mills

    Barao

The accumulator works out at about 14/1 with Ladbrokes. If it comes in I'll go to London for the next one over there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,828 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

going against you on one of them

small double on manuwa and nedkov which works out
    at 2/1

confident about manuwa and nedkov overpriced imo at 11/10
this will be a major stepdown from thiago silva for nedkov I think

I still remember that farce of a fight between alex reid and tom watson

  • Registered Users Posts: 813 ✭✭✭Shazbot

Put a double on Nedkov and Sass.

A large single on Gunnar by sub @ 5/2

It's ridiculous for Carmouche, i heard a few weeks ago she was 9/1!!!

Look at the stats, Rousey has had 9 fights (6 pro, 3 amateur), all wins by armbar, all within a minute, apart from 1.

Carmouche aint no slouch, she can punch and will sure as hell have been training against falling into positions where she'd give up her arm

What would Rousey be like in the later rounds if it went that far

I'm gonna throw a score on Carmouche, can't resist them odds

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,139 Mod ✭✭✭✭Mr. Manager

In a 2 horse race I think those odds are a little skewed. I stuck €20 on Carmouche at 9.0 sometime last week.

Nobody she has beaten fell into a position and gave up an arm. They were all thrown violentl into place. That's the thing about Judo, often when you successfully throw somebody, they end up on their back while you still have their arm extended. Even if Carmouche spent 3 months full time on judo defence. She's nowhere near Olympic level.
Rousey isn't some one trick pony, it's just that nobody in the division has a way to prevent the throws.

Rousey definitely isn't worth a bet at 1.1, but I'm not sure she loses often enough to consider betting against her.

Hey mate, sorry about that comment...probably going to make myself sound like a raging alcoholic here but the time that comment was posted at (and the fact that I don't remember typing it!) would lead me to assume I had imbibed one too many shandies and thought that this was a witty attempt at drunken banter at the time.

I don't actually really bet on mma a lot at all, so have no idea why I would make such a statement! Sorry for being a douche :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 813 ✭✭✭Shazbot

I just saw the odds for method of victory for UFC 157. Rousey is 2/9 for finish by sub. It's not even worth a bet. I'm sticking a small one on Carmouche by KO @ 10/1

Decent price on Machida to win on points @4/6 but I can't pass up Hendo by KO @ 4/1.

If anyone is interested in Irish MMA, Paddy Power are offering odds on Cage Contender tomorrow night. Myles Price is a steal at 5/4 and Peter Quelly is decent value at 4/6. I'll be throwing a double on that.

I am tempted to have a decent bet on lavar at 5/4 to beat schaub
if the likes of rothwell and even big nog can knock schaub out then
I think lavar will have no problem doing the same
I would expect schaub to stand and bang as always which will
    be curtains for him imo
Now the only downside would be schaub changing tactics and
taking it to the ground which would be a disaster given lavars groundgame
is up there with houston alexanders
I'm thinking myself a change of tactics might be a possibility after
losing two in a row but will schaub just stand and bang as per usual?

does anyone have any thoughts on this?
    would appreciate any opinions whatsoever

I think lavar can take whatever schaub throws at him if it remains standing.

last couple of ufcs weren't great for me so a bit hesitant

only other fight I'm tempted to bet on is josh neer at 9/4 to beat
    court mc gee (1/3)
the price of neer seems awful big to me for a fight I think could
be quite even unless mc gee takes neer down and keeps him down
It's not a fight i have any strong opinions about but it seems
    a very big price
