think there's money to be made tonite

my idea of a banker is this double

    fight to go the distance
    maia/kim yes 1/2
    griffin/ortiz yes 8/13
20 returns 48 on this so roughly 11/8 for the double

cant see any of these fights being finished inside the distance
    time will tell

tito looks a tad overpriced to me at 5/2 also

just very happy to watch the sonnen one without betting on it

jamie varner is 5/4 to beat joe lauzon next weekend (pp)

he was as big as 7/4 midweek but it didnt last long
    got on at 6/4 myself

i'd nearly have had him favourite myself especially after
    his display against ed barboza
I think a sub is lauzons only way of winning this one but i think
varner will put him away in the first

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,828 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

paddy were and still are the only bookie to price this and now
    varner is evens

id be interested to see how the other bookies price this one up

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,828 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

was tempted to lump on bendo points at evens but my lucks out lately
so a small bet on this double instead
really can't see past bendo in this one again

The favorites special served me well. €10 at 9/4 for bendo, cowboy and shields, €32 back

Looking at PP for next week's event.

Jones is a stupid 1/7 for the win but, IMO, AWESOME value on a Hendo Ko win, 11/1 for 1st round & 12/1 for 2nd round.

Odds like that for someone with Hendo's experience and punch is pretty damn good

Neither of those is a good price IMO.
He's available for a straight the win at 6-1, or KO win at 7-2, both of which work out at a better price than betting both 1st and 2nd rd KOs prices above. Plus includes the tiny chance that he wins some other way.

Jones by KO or TKO at 2/1 is much better value. If Hendo beats Jones then it'll be one of the greatest upsets in UFC history (but still not (in my view) as big a surprise as Serra beating GSP). That season of TUF was the best of them all, just like Rocky with GSP in the Apollo Creed role, they should do something like that again.

love the price on stann 6/4

    thats very generous imo
if bisbing wins then it its a points win for him (evens)
i would rule out any other method by which bisbing can win this

ive no doubt itll be stann pushing the action and its 23/10 that he
wins by ko which is a possiblility but to be fair to bisbing...only hendo
has finished him so i'll give him a little respect
another standout price it stann by points which is huge at 15/2 imo

so 15/2 and 6/4 it is for me
seems an age since i had a bet but theres been damn all on lately
    best of luck

I'm stuck for money lately so had no money to gamble on this, but Paddy Power gave me a €2 free bet so I stuck it on Belfort to win in round 3 @ 30/1. :pac:

Ya never know, my luck has to come in sometime!

I don't see anything particularly special about this price...

What would you have had him at prior to the bookies making a price?

i'd have had both of them 5/6
i dont think bisbing is any better than stann

why do you think bisbing should be that much shorter?

Ah to be honest it's probably my like for the guy getting the better of my judgement. I'm hoping Bisping will win so therefore I'm giving him more credit than he probably deserves.

Having said that, I don't believe they are evenly matched. Close, yes, but not even.

I think they are pretty close in ability and skill in a general sense. But I think the match up favours Bispings style more. Constant strikes will win rounds here. Bisping by Decision

    nice one

    one more for my 7fold
ive had 5 up before but not 7
    now ive cursed it
cant see past miocic and i dont see struve subbing him either

saying that i backed lavar and pat barry to beat struve so who knows
if he beats miocic ill never back against him again

im strugging to find anything worth lumping on for saturdays card so
im doing the simpson silva double 5/4+7/4 for small stakes

simpson v pierce should be a very close contest which either
man could win and itll surely go a decision

bigfoot on the other hand looks a big price
if you take away his last two defeats to cormier and cain then
    thats a big price
he's mainly been beaten by the very best and travis browne hasnt
beaten a top heavyweight yet apart from struve who stuck his
head out for it to be knocked off but struve has a lot of improving
to do to be considered a top tier heavyweight and any of
cain, jds cormier and a few others would make dust of him.
browne was lucky to get a draw with kongo and only because
    kongo was deducted a point

    thats my lot anyway

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,828 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

should have done a single on silva

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,828 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

    two singles for tonite

    kamp by dec at 7/2
I dont think he will ko hendricks or sub him
its a big price for a guy who beat alves story and ellen
in his last three and who was robbed against shields
hendricks looked average v koshchek and i think hes
overated and think if he wins it will be by ko

    garza at 9/4
im taking this as homick looked a shadow of himself against
yagin who imo isnt as good a fighter as garza
hom tried to win safe last time out and may try to do the
    same again
he doesnt look the same fighter at all since jung put him away
he might win a dec but i wouldnt be going in at long odds on
the fact that its in canada might help him though

Took a punt on MacDonald, Shogun and Henderson @6.33

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,828 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

Going big on the Gustaf/mac donald double
Works out at slightly over evens with boyles

Penn has no chance of beating mac IMO and even at his
Very best I would still fancy mac
Think Gustaf will gain a comfortable points win unless rua
    Lands a big one
His size and reach will cause shogun a lot of problems

    No idea of Diaz hendo
It's surely a pts win whatever happens so if I had
To pick ill go Diaz pts
Not sure why but I want diaz to win

Going big on a Roddy-Cruickshank double tonight. Some great betting as very close odds (especially when you look at the boxing selection on PP); anyone else having a flutter?

I took Cruickshank, Stevens and Swick

Loved the early price on Swick. Both he and Brown were 5/6. Lumped on straight away, he's way shorter now and brown out to 3/2
