A nice solid return over the period, was it consistent small gains or is it skewed buy a bigger bet?

Cheers, the range of my liability per bet was consistent within a range, daily totals ranged from -€225 to + €225 depending on number of winners encountered so the actual return wasn't consistent daily, I tracked it daily though but my milestones are every 200 lays rather than a daily or weekly profit target :)

I started off with a risky enough liability to bank size ratio but as the bank has grown my liability hasn't grown proportionally so risk of going bust has decreased significantly. Early days I was risking €20 when the bank was only 10 times that, not wise but I'd have added to the bank as required, as it turned out I didn't need to.

192 of the 600 lays won which I was pleased with considering they were all fancied in the betting :)

I've put quite a bit of time into it, lots before I actually started too it must be said.

Mixed emotions on this one , about to watch Hatton fight so layed 500 on Hatton for the win at 1.38 , then through a couple of tiny bets on the round markets 1 and 9 , never bet that small so was kinda kicking myself when it came in !

Not a fan of after-timing, but I finally a good day on the horses... (after about 8 bad bets on the run) :D

Typically, it was the one day I did not post my bets in the Fancies thread.

The second batch of 600 lays weren't as successful :(

That day when there were two cards on at W'ton was horrendous, still profit is profit.

I'm still out but I think I won?
The bet was sp favs to be placed in Dundalk tonight.
Does a joint fav keep the bet going?
    I hope so

If the pic is crap. The bet was all sp favs to be placed on Dundalk @50/1

here's the thing and i'm pretty sure
If you do a placepot and you select a fav and there
happens to be joint favs then it automatically goes
to the horse with the lowest number on the racecard so
if this was a placepot you would lose as asian wing in
the last race was number 4 and balmot flyer was number 6.

To be honest I wouldnt honestly know if the same rules apply
to this bet but i hope for your sake it doesnt and it would be
lousy if this bookie didnt pay you

    Went digging there iggy,
    check out post 17 here
doesnt look good im afraid as placepot rules apply with boylesports anyway and
if thats the case its not good

Sh1t . Thanks for looking it up.
I'll let u know when I try collect

Although it wasn't a placepot . It was on the board. Surely if it was
A joint fav when race started a joint fav is a plus for me?

    I doubt it very much
i'd be betting you won't get it for balmont flyer being joint
    and a higher racecard number
im sure pp rules are the same as boyles

really do hope for your sake you get it

    Think you are right.
WAS ON TO pp live help and this is respoinse
"Brian I have checked the 6.50 race and it seems the joint fav (Samollie) that didn't place had the lowest card number

    Load of ****e.
Im pissed off and have closed my PP account.
Surely the bookies should honour the bet that was advertised"
ALL SP FAVS TO BE PLACED IN DUNDALK TONIGHT 50/1"

There was no joint favs in any race when bet was placed so surely if a horse went joint fav before the off , that would be a plus for the punter???

Rant over... so near but yet not so.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

I'd like to say otherwise Iggy but closing your PP account was a bit of an over reaction. Any bookies advertising that kind of bet have the same rules regarding joint favs, lowest race card number. Unlucky

Its a bit unfortunate for you,but any bet involving un-named selections has to be subject to similiar rules. The fact that there were no joint favs in the betting forecast is irrelevant.if there were 3 or more co favs you would hardly expect to be on them all with a rapidly diminishing stake due to being divided by 2,3 or more depending on the number of joint or co favs. The rules are there and it is up to us to be aware of them.I am sure we have all had a decent ew bet on a race with 8 runners, only to see a no-hoper pulled out and our fancy finish 3rd and our readies done.Thats racing.

Had a freakishly good day today laying what were in my opinion poor value horses on Betfair (also known as laying random numbers by those in the know in the some horse racing circles :pac: )

Only 1 winner from 18, admittedly in some races I layed two selections....

Not the most impressive figure wise, but one I am delighted with nonetheless, since it was just an offhand bet to make the golf more interesting.

Ryan Sweeting was being a little bitch and tanking, so made this little bet at 5-1 in the 3rd set and Sweeting serving and 99% sure of intentionally getting himself broken.

Man I love betting on serves, people underrate the moneymaking potential.

Shouldve listened to your advice. Third time unlucky in my case. 30e L15 returned 4.88E today :o

@horseholetouch -> Today I choose a few picks from various websites and it didnt turn out too well. Think I'll hold off the horse betting until next week as I wont have a lot of time over the weekend to go through the cards.

Couple of bets in the Club GAA semi's though. Ian Kilbride from St brigids is even money to score a point. And Jamie Clarke is 8/11 to score +2.5 points. Going to have a nibble at those prices. Also, toying with the idea of sticking a score on St brigids @ 11/4. They will be out for revenge.
