Im 5'8" my husband is 6'4". We are the tallest in our families. One of my sisters is 4'11" and the other 2 are 5'5" and 5'6".

My husband has 11 brothers and sisters (yes really!) They are all tall, most of the girls around my height and the men all 6 footers on average.

We both have short parents oddly!

I'm standing on the shoulders of giants.

What's the reason for being reasonable?

    Is that an unreasonable question?

I'm over 6'6" tall and have been this height since around 16 1/2. My 14 year old son is already taller than I was at his age.

6". Hated being tall for all my teenage years, now slightly coming to terms with it! I even wear heels now without thinking about towering over everyone.

Seems this thread is full of outliers or, outright liars, since the average height of Irish women is 5'5" and 5'7" for men.

5'7" is defo wrong for lads, more like 5'9 5'10 ish.

Two of my friends are 5'7 and they are tiny! little babas

I'm 6ft 5. It can be good sometimes but it can also be a hindrance. I wouldn't like to be shorter though.

I'm 6'5" and in my late twenties, I suppose I stopped growing about 10 years ago.

    5' 9'' and I'm 19.

Was 5' 8'' at 15 so expected to be really tall. It never happened. :(

5ft 12" is the metric version.

    Somewhere between 5'9'' and 5'10''

As in all other aspects of my life, I'm distinctly average.

Think our Celtic Tiger Influx has elongated the Median height, don't know how to feel about that!

There's nothing metric about feet and inches

    6ft 3.5" - Just measured it.

    About 6 ft I'm 15

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,564 ✭✭✭Naikon

Yeah, I can't believe the height of young lads these days.

When I was in college in the '80s, 6' was considered tall.

    Now it seems an averege.

    I'm a 5'9" fast approaching middle-aged bloke btw....:D

My auld fella keeps telling me it's the hormones they pump into meat these days:rolleyes:

Another curse not related to height though, is shoe size. Try finding 14 and up in most stores now - not easy. ****ing annoying.

Shoes, Yep, an utter pain in the Arse of a Product to find, I find I'm limited greatly in options at size 14, if I go into a shoewshop there will be at least 5 different stylish shoes that they dont have in my size, I'm limited to dress shoes, work boots and horidly expensive tat.
    Mostly I order converse online.
