    57-year-old men can be attracted to 17-year-old girls, nothing wrong with that. Having sex with them might be crossing the line (depends on the individual case) for a variety of reasons, but it is not illegal when she (a) gives her consent, (b) is not under-age.

    I don't think it's paedophilia to have sex with a teenager either - only a pre-pubescent child.

    Slightly off topic from the current 'argument', but I wonder why the 57 year old willingly dropped his pants. I mean, someone approaches you with a sharp knife and says drop your trousers,what do you think their gonna do, cut your knee?
    If you knew your gonads were in for a mutilating surely you'd make a run for it or fight your way out, unless of course your full of guilt, remorse and fear and probably feel you deserve the cutting.

    I don't agree with that argument in fairness since 17 is obviously way less mature than 40 - I'm not disagreeing it's a weird relationship considering their life stages.

    by saying she is a child, yes when you think 57 then you see a person of 17 as a child, i am 51 and i have a 25 yr old daughter, i would not accept a 57 yr old man as her partner, quiet simply he would be too old,

    I understand you not liking the idea of it (can't think of the exact reason why - his age doesn't mean he's likely to hurt her at all, but I can still understand it) however you don't have a right to threaten him with physical violence, not least because it could be upsetting for her.
