O' good, they are even increasing the tax on our savings!
    (Dirt tax)

Think that was expected. They want people out there spending money instead of keeping it in bank accounts. The Banks are being given the cash from the ECB/IMF

EXACTLY - FF stated they want 100,000 to leave.
    Isn't that nice!

Charming. I'm 18 and FF don't want me in the country I was raised in. Well I don't want FF and before we (inevitably) emigrate from here as a generation we'll obliterate them in an election

Bit of a dig at biffo there as regards the stamp duty

What's this about some universal health charge or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,396 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

Not a pension genius, but abolishing private pension rebates essentially has the effect of forcing people to put money in public pension funds?

Reduction in stamp duty = great idea.

Whats the problem, you must be in the legal profession that has overcharged the taxpayer for years and have the cheek to come on here to say social welfare should be slashed, typical, most of the Irish public think the legal profession are just as bad as the bankers.

They're getting rid of the Income Levy and Health Levy and replacing it with a Universal Social Charge. So instead of paying 2% income levy and 3% (or whatever it is) health levy, it will all be combined into one tax.

For anyone here in the building trade, 20% to be retained for C2 registered. Remaining 35% for those non-C2 registered. Huge change for those with C2s

Jesus, the air tax has gone down!

Will be back up when they see it made no difference what so ever to tourist numbers.

Social welfare, public sector and minimum wage has to be slashed. Don't agree with that about legal profession, they are more like builders charging above rates. They were not quiet as irresponsible as the bankers.

Food costs will go up now because of increased transport costs - or at least thats will be part of the reason used in future.
