Thanks for the heads up Kev.
I'm going to be a cheap bastard and try yo buy a bare console for ~€25.

Only intend to use it with Everdrive MD or the Russian RAM Factory 128MX+WTF Cart.

Bought an original controller today, and already have a C64 video cable which has the same pinout as the MegaDrive.

I also have 9V PSU's that should do the trick, might need to solder a new jack to one, to make it centre pin negative.

    :p

All that is WAY over my HEAD :)
My MD1 one is there to just look pretty next to my MD 2 :)

It might be for now, but if any of your retro gear ever goes tits up,
and you don't want to fork out money for a specialist to fix it....

that info will be lodge in your head faster than a .50 cal round! ;)

Does your MD1 sound bassier than our MD2?

My ZX Spectrum I have had for almost 22 years is for sale. I want someone who is gonna look after it to buy it not someone who is going to dump it in their attic :(.

I'm afraid to go to one of those bloody things, in case I turn into a retro junky myself! :D

The recently purchased C64 + Ultimate Cart was a nostalgia necessity,

but now the Megadrive + Everdrive is seducing thanks to this forum....

and even now I'm contemplating getting a nicely priced snes even though I never had one, and the range of games doesn't appeal to me as much as the Sega range!

Thank god I don't have much of an interest in using original carts!

oooh im the opposite, NES SNES and N64 all the way over sega, but this week picked up Megadrive 1, Saturn and Dreamcast, never had any as a kid.

Im trying to get all Main Consoles ever made for Nintendo, PlayStation, Xboxs, and Segas, so far all I need is Sega Master System (UGLY piece of ...) and last piece i need is a Boxed SNES :) My Fav Console ever probably bar N64.
Holding out for best till last :)

then move on to others, Atari 2600 and C64 be next on the list :)

Ah now it's not that ugly!

    sms_01off.jpg

Looks like a tape player! Master system 2 on the other hand I'm not a big fan of the design but I do rather like the door thing over the cartridge slot.

The C64 is a must with the range of games available, even games being released still for it, and for having the best sound chip before everything went digital!

Hehe, I had the Master System after the c64, and looking back on it now it was almost like a downgrade! ;)

Since the Mega Drive can play most Master System games with those flash carts, thats all that I'll be using!

You know what, even though the SNES doesn't seduce as much as the mega drive does (MD with all it's range of dark, gritty and violent action games,) it's a must for the mario franchise alone.
Maybe finally I'll be able to master those games, and not suck!

    Tempted!

I'll have to look into postage costs, I really have no idea what it would cost. I'll have to weight it and find out from there.

Sometimes splitting the lot into 2 packages might work out a little more economical too!

    No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I forgot about a Battle Garegga PCB auction I was watching. Ended at €167. Someone got a bargain. I thought it was going to sell for a hell of a lot more.

Me too! Someone got an absolute steal there.

I was bidding on it and forgot it was ending. Same with the Donpachi board he was selling.

    ARGH!

Oh well, money not wasted to put aside for Batrider in July I guess. Full kit, version B goodness topped off with a hefty smattering of Ibara stuff.

    *BURP!*

Someone stick a fork in me, because I'm done!

I was online last night 35 min before it was ending, but fell asleep with the computer on my lap. :(

Forgot about the auction until I checked my phone this morning and there was a notification on my ebay app saying it was ending soon. I even remember hearing the notification going off while I was asleep, but thought it was just my phone saying the charge was complete!

Ah well, probably for the best. Bit tapped out after buying Christmas pressies. January is going to be painful enough as is!

It'll come round again. I honestly can't believe the price it went for, I was expecting closer to €300 for it. That said, I don't know if the type II board is the one everyone goes for, plus he never stated what revision is on the board, although I guess you could flash the ROM's at a later date but you'd wreck the value of the board.

Same with Donpachi, someone got a real bargain there.

Hands off Batrider (ver. B) though if it ever appears for sale yeah!?? :D

That Garegga for sale was the type 2 version. Everyone wants the type 1 (and flash chips for the type 2 boards) so I'd imagine that's why it was cheap.

I've played both and rather type 2 myself. The bullets are just too annoying in type 1. So it would have been ideal.

Ah well, as you said, it should come around again. I'll add it to my ebay saved searches.

The end price of Donpachi, I don't know why that went so cheap. Maybe it's because the seller is based in Korea.

Speaking of which, that guy is always listing great games. He's worth keeping an eye on. I'm very tempted by his Knights of Valour 2 PGM cart..they usually are listed at a lot more than that.

As for Batrider..we'll figure that out when it happens :pac:

Same fella I bought Mazinger Z from. Sound guy and ships by EMS too. That said I've not tested the board yet, was working far too late last night and when I got home I couldn't be arsed testing it. Need to tate the monitor in the cab too, will have to do that so and give the G-Net verts a test too. :)

    HANDS OFF BATRIDER! :D

Good point. I wouldn't want to ruin the board with any static. Will make sure just to pick it up by the sides :pac:

Aye, quite the wrong thing to do if interested in something is to shout about it. In fairness anyone into shmups would be keeping an eye on it.

Question - how long did it take before you noticed the boobs? Me? about 2.5 seconds.
