The ball that got Tendulkar was a pearler.
Love seeing Singh and Gambhir making the long walk back.

    Smith 60, Kallis 102 n.o., Amla 103 n.o. and some lightweight bowling..

Amla gets another Test ton, the guy is brilliant, really enjoy watching him play, any guess to how many Kallis and Amla can put on? :D...

Kallis must fancy finally nailing a double ton.

Kallis will do what he always does, fall first thing the next morning

While I hope Kallis will get his double, I do think he will play some stupid shot near the double and get out, Amla looks much more composed,

has he got an Irish Passport?,...

Kallis now one century behind Ponting on all time century list.

He could be 399 n.o. overnight and he'd fall in the first couple of overs next morning. Frustrating because he's probably my favourite batsman. Slow and sturdy, then thumps a few sixes, gets 100 and then all bets are off as he switches off.

Well I really hope Ponting can get at least one century in the Ashes, it's sad to see him play like this...

    Only 3 to go...
AB blasted to a century off 75 balls.

    And he's got it.

    620/3!
    484 runs ahead

    And SA declared at 620.

In the reply, not often one sees Sehwag out scored though Gambhir has had more of the strike. Sehwag just got single to bring them both to 59.
    127/0

    190/2 at the close.....still 294 behind

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,668 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

Only thing left dodgy for Kallis now is his hair :)

Wonder if Laxman can do it again in the 2nd innings..

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭booth70

257/5....only SRT stands between SA and a thumping today

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭booth70

Jeez....didn't think the match would last this long....India still hanging on at 437/6....The GOD has just bought up His 50th test century....but you can't still help but think that SA are only a wicket away from wrapping this up

  • Registered Users Posts: 740 ✭✭✭Cremated

And Steyn has broken the partnership and Dhoni is out for 90, will Harbhajan be able to control himself and hold back the big shots...

Raina needs to be dropped, he is a walking wicket right now, I don't see it getting any better really for him.Pujara or Vijay deserve a shot.

Pujara looked classy in that 2nd innings run chase against Australia in Bangalore....but South Africa in Durban will be a step up against a better bowling unit....but surely he deserves to be in the squad ahead of that flat track bully Raina....I'll have him at 3 and move Dravid down to 5

Vijay opens for his state side and has been pencilled in as an opener and can't see him play unless one of the openers loses form or is injured

Oh God....SA win toss and have sent India in to bat on a green, bouncy pitch under grey skies....

It will be Groundhog Day....Like the Ashes this series could be over by close of play today!!:(

Vijay in for the injured Gambhir, Pujara for Raina and Khan in...SA unchanged

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭booth70

74/2 at lunch....SRT already looks good for no 51.....hope the rest can stay with him;)

    Only 87 short!!.....92/3

Steyn is so far ahead of everyone when it comes to bowling right now. Incredible stuff from him really, he was just to good for India.

Pujara looked classy, he is not the finished article but he looks much more solid than Raina. Vijay done well, but was undone by a superb over of bowling from Steyn.

The catch to get rid of Laxman was amazing as well.

If India can get another 100 and with Khan to bowl, it could be interesting.

Steyn and Anderson are streets ahead of any other bowlers on the planet now.....absolute masterclass in swing bowling at Melbourne and Durban

Should add Zaheer Khan to that list.....masters of the art of swing bowling:)

Finally this series is beginning to live up to its billing....SA rolled over for 131

    India 10-0 2nd time around

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭booth70

17 wickets have fallen today and we still have about 35 overs to play....at this rate SA will be underway with the 4th innings chase by the end of play today!!:(

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭booth70

Nice test this is shaping up to be....

India 92/4 and 166 ahead....this is still even stevens...if SA blow India away tomoro morning they should still fancy chasing down about 200-210....India on the other hand will want at least another 100 -120 runs

This has the makings of a classic low-scoring match, with SA needing 303 to win, which is 75 more than the highest innings to date.

They are already 58 towards their target with no wickets down. If they can get past 100 with no more than 1 wicket lost they will be giving themselves a great chance.
