    Vending what?

Sorry should have said. The usual crisps, chocolate and drinks. Only spotted it passing on the bus.

The last vestiges of Ivans Shop, Caherdavin have finally disappeared in the last few days with the new Laya signage applied to the landmark building.

It's going to be takeaway only I think

Ya I think the sign says:

Tuscany To Go or Tuscany on the Go. Something like that.

At 70 euros per visit, doubt if they will survive too long. Daylight robbery.

I think it’s a very welcome addition. If you had something minor wrong that a GP can’t deal with, it’s better than going to a&e

Exactly. I'd rather dork out the money than wait hours in a&e

Is there any discount or benefits for Laya customers ?

Fit out out a new Screwfix store is about to begin in the Eastpoint Retail Park. It's going into the corner of the old Wickes unit next to the Wisla Polish shop. The drive in Covid test center is in the rest of the unit.

Any idea when this is due to open?

As far as I know the first / initial visit is free and follow up scans or appointments are chargeable but I’m not 100% on that

    Absolutely this.

A GP visit is at least €50 if not €60 and this place will have much more advanced facilities.

Great to have in Limerick I think

I agree 100% with this, although some people (including one's on this thread) just want everything for free.

If you have medical Insurance in some cases it can cover 50% or even 100% of visits like this place, you can even head to a private clinic like Galway(if you wanted to) for A&E and still claim it back.

There will be no shortage of people handing over money for this service.

Isn’t it solely for Laya customers?

Isn’t it solely for Laya customers?

Nope. Open to anyone over the age of 12 months.

No, as H3000 said, anyone over 12 months can visit. But in terms of it being covered by a plan, I'm with Irish Life and they cover me for Laya clinics (as well as Affidea). The amount of cover depends on your plan but as said above, the real benefit is the speed of it as opposed to spending hours in A&E.

When I first came to Limerick in the early 80's I think Ivan had just taken over the shop. He bought it from the previous owner who taught with the he advent of traffic lights being placed there the shop would lose business. He set up one of the first ever Convience stores. He targeted the person buying a newspaper and a scone or a box if cigs and a loaf of bread. For an unbranded shop it held its own until the late noughties. Owners after that tried to fix a winning formula. Within twenty years it will be knocked and be a block of apartments with retail under it

Cool. Laya have free GP video consultations extended until the end of 2021 anyway

The costs for non members for the Clinics are here - https://www.layahealthcare.ie/clinics/yourcover/ - it’s more or less free for members too.

God, you have got to love Boards. Posters can go from knowing nothing about a business to practically promoting it just by simply googling said business .

....and without even thanking those who showed them the light

Anyone who has spend a few hours with a kid in the regional A&E and been charged €100 for the privilege will be beating a path to this place for the next stitch or x ray.

Was walking past Baker Place last night and saw lights on inside with what looked like the kind of wheeled scaffolding decorators use. Anyone know what's happening in there? Be a brave person to think about opening a bar in these times.
