Still no upgrade in the 23Z TAFs (valid up to midnight tomorrow). Nothing gusting above 48kts.... Red text is time period and forecast wind (eg. 1111/1120 means from 1100-2000Z on the 11th, 26025G45KT = wind from 260° (West) 25 gusting 45 kts).

Maybe its just my eyes but the last few frames of the loop look like it takes a more southeastward wobble?

Quite noisy outside at the moment here in Donegal.
    Pretty Windy.

There were plenty of storm force wind arrows on the RTE1 weather just there, not to mention the huge STORM triangle so it looks as it might a big one.

Su Campu, do you have a TAF for Carnmore? I would be surprised if it was forecasting anything above 50/60knts for the airport to be honest.

Not yet, I'll have one in the morning. They're only issued for 9 hour periods

it'll be interesting to hear the 11:55 radio forecast.

it's fairly blustery here at the moment.

Just moved upstairs for bed, taken one of the front rooms (NW facing), the wind sounds like jet engine bursts!

I thought so too, but it's very hard to say in such a short time period. It's hugely at odds with the HiRLAM though, for whatever reason.

EDIT: The 2300 buoy report is just in and it's 957.4 hPa now, so the 2200 was a dodgy reading!

What's the source for the data for buoy 44625?

Maybe the met office know something that this storm is not as strong as we think not to issue warnings for the north.

Just wondering. Do they have access to more data sources than we have on here? Surely they are looking at the same data we are. Maybe just inturpreting it differently.

Pressure falling here at the moment 983.7mb currently. 12mph mean and gusting no more than 25mph and even those are infrequent.

The Sky weather summary at about 9 pm didn't mention anything remotely exciting, just a bit windy and wet. No warnings.
