I wish I lived on west caost of n ireland to see the swell of the waves crashing in, don't think much will happen over east coast with the direction of the wind. The met office doesn't even have northern ireland in warning but the weather girl on bbc newsline said we to get storm force winds tomorrow with red warning triangle in west first then the east for later. Strange

Tomorrow afternoons winds could be about twice as strong as whatever you have there now.

Ah well ...I remember having a smoke break (in the lee of the office) a few years ago while 50 m down the road at Sligo airport they recorded a gust of 140 km/h

    No biggie :D

Any volunteers to stay up all night saving every image of this beauty? Be great to make an animated gif like that for the duration of Carmen's visit. Bags not btw :)

It will be interesting to see how it pans out Maq, but I don't think my little area will be seeing anything major anyway. We are quite capable of getting sustained gales here but I don't think this will happen tomorrow. Still, it should be better than getting a slap in the face with a dead fish at least!

Wet and windy here, definitely picking up, considering how calm it was here a few hours ago.

See you all on here in the morning!! nite ya'all :)

There was a huge jump in pressure at Buoy 44625 at 2200, so the centre has just passed it by. Buoy located at N58.95 W16.73

    Time....hPa
    2200.....971.9
    2100.....964.3
    2000.....969.0
    1900.....973.5
    1800.....976.8

Actually, something looks wrong with that buoy. The centre should be still approaching it, not passing by, unless it's picked up speed ahead of the models, or taken a dive southwards. Pressure should be still falling..... Is it doing a sneaky one on us? Either that or the HiRLAM is way out. The green dot shows the buoy's location, and the two charts are for 2100 and midnight.

Christmas tree lights have a habit of doing that! :pac:

There is a strange grumbling noise emanating from Louisburg direction, they are either having an orgy there or something very menacing is approaching.

Yeah i agree with the grumbling noise with this wind, its most strange. Then every so often it whistles/whines down the chimney

Maybe its just my eyes but the last few frames of the loop look like it takes a more southeastward wobble?
