well, thats because ladies, for the first time in your life you got to aim it yourself! :D

It's not the aiming. Just play Blacklight and I end up running into a wall because I'm pressing A instead of W in my haste while getting shot. I guess it'll take a while. I was going to upgrade my mouse but I really don't see a point haha.

That doesn't happen to me, but I was playing the likes of Minecraft for a good year before I moved so I got used to the keyboard.

Just a quick question. Every FPS I play it seems I always run out of room on my mouse mat. I have to pick up the mouse and put it back in the center of the mouse mat. Is this to do with the DPI or am I just an oaf when it comes to pc gaming? I think it's 1600 DPI.

Have you tried increasing the DPI or it could be your mat. what is your mat?

1600 is the max. It was 12 quid so can't expect much. Eh I have the Razer Goliathus Omega mouse mat.

12 quid mouse? I could be wrong but I reckon that's the fault. Could also be that the mouse doesnt like the surface of the mat. I got a new mouse today and it doesnt really like the surface of my bungie xl mat

I reckon its the cheap mouse tbh

Sounds like you have sensitivity too low. If you can't do anything with the mouse itself, there's usually an option in the game menu. If you don't see anything there, go to the start menu and type mouse (or if your mouse has its own individual software). Go to pointer options and move the pointer speed up a bit. I recommend that you untick the box for enhance pointer precision - This accelerates mouse movement the faster you use move the mouse, fine for windows but not so good for FPS aiming if you want to stay consistent.

It will take a bit of getting used to but you should be better off in the long run.

In case you arent aware, there's a big patch called Mann Vs Machine coming to TF2 Today(US Time). It'll be where everyone is at.

I wish it was out already :(

I want to stay up to play it with my friends but I'm starting to feel tired already.

In other news, I did much better in the LC than I thought I would, very happy with my results.

No, I no. I've played at 70-85 sensitivity and it still happens. The pointer thing is full too.

Anyone else find the transition from console to pc cumbersome? Used to half decent at these games. I always end up hitting random buttons in a panic.

    Xbox controller for me

No I think what Mono ment was that your DPI is to low

You might actually see a big difference if you had a mouse capable of doing 1600 to 3500 )1800 is what im using at the moment

    im the opposite

Was a console game for years (ps3) and went to pc and took me an age to get use to the mouse and eventually I got there but now I cant go back to console gaming. Find it so hard to use the ps3 controller these days

As mono said it is defenetly problem with sensitivity. Check all games and windows it self.
Was there any software with mouse? Or any manual way of switching dpi? You might accidentally switch dpi to 100 etc.
My mouse is able to do 3500dpi and old one 5600dpi, but it is not needed by a long shot. I am currently using only 1800dpi.

No there are only two settings on the mouse. There is a big DPI switch button located just under the scroll wheel. Every game I play I make sure to turn my sensitivity up and I've adjusted the pointer speed to full under mouse properties.

You have this up to full?

    217241.png

(Untick the box for more consistent movement in FPS, but it's still useful at other times, e.g., laptops or strategy games).

Something's not right then. Is the mouse very fast at moving across the screen in windows? It should be nearly difficult to control at all with it flying out to the sides at the slightest movement- well you should easily be able to get across in one movement along the mouse pad anyway.

Try a different mousepad. It could be that the mouse is just f----d. Even most €12 mice these days should do better than that unless it's on the way out. Is it a wireless mouse?

Ye that's the whole way across. It's a wired mouse. It was acting up when I came back from holiday a few days ago but it seemed to settle down a bit but it I never had to lift it up and place it back in the center of the mat. Woohoo. Excuse to get a Cyborg (without getting eaten by my girlfriend.)

I think they're fugly, but at least it will work. Be sure to readjust your windows mouse settings when you get a new one.

Your mouse is clearly on its way out then if it was working before. I suppose you could test it out with another machine to make sure it's not something that got corrupted in windows or a game.

Either that or the g500. I've tried on the other computer in the house and same thing happens.

i used this for awile and it is ****.

    http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/peripherals/sentineladvance/

i got my deathadder yesterday and it is so much better. It is one of those mouse which is praised by a lot of gamers. let alone that it was released ages ago and they still upgrade it and improve it, but keeping same design. that says a lot, because a lot oof razor mouses just disapear after some time.

its just good, tested by time, mouse. very comfortable and easy to use. just if you are going for one, then make sure you go for black edition or 3.5g edition, those got some improvements and updated infrared sensor. i got the 3.5g edition non black as it has that rubbery mat finish, which feels a lot better in hand.

Cheers, thanks. Might order it off of Amazon some time this week.

The deathadder is really uncomfortable to me, and isn't even that pretty. If you can get a RAT, I'd get it, personally.

I'm currently using a CM Storm Sentinel, which is surprisingly good to say I got it for £20

Worst mouse I ever owned. Software even worse. Last CM mouse I ever buy.

    Software even worse.

    You actually installed the software?

I'm using the rat 7 and I gotta say I'm loving it. Granted the appearance of it can put a lot of people off it but the way it can be customised to fit your hand is great and I find the software to be very good too. I don't exactly have extensive experience of different mouses but I can't find fault with this one.
