    Grand!

Seems to of passed 3DMark, but it's starting to go on the fritz while just in my browser. Think it's going back!

When I bought my card it was perfect for about forty minutes, and then things went down hill fast with artefacting in games and then on the desktop. Whatever failed understandably was overlooked by the quality control. Fact of life I guess.

And mine has 12 entries, for whatever reason.

Sorry for taking so long, was at work.

Eh, here's two. One was taken with a camera, the other with a potato.(Neither too great in low light situations)

I would send that back if it bothers you even slightly, backlight bleed like that in say a qnix or catleap you would have to put up with but I would say thats excessive for a branded monitor imo

I will be sending back, after attempting to watch a movie on Netflix the issue was too much. Sadly, I'll be sending both back.

Ye it really shows up with widescreen movies. They should take it back handy enough, it looks quite excessive.

Is the new gpu going back aswell?

Thats unlucky that both have issues:(

hai, re: the 7990, yes second hand from a friend.

After seeing the mining build and the cards running at full pelt...I'm inclined to not buy.

Would have warranty thru friend is anything happened tho, but bought a car so pc gear on the backfoot

Will I need more than 2gb Vram for 1440p? I'm going to get one in the coming months, and I'm looking out for a nice graphics card to power it

I found this video useful when looking for a card for 1440p,the benchmarks give a good idea of what sort of frames you would be getting with different cards. Its a linus vid and he talks about vram at 1440p aswell

I was considering a 770, as they're not overly expensive. So 2gb version is fine due to high memory speeds? I'd like to keep this whole thing under ~€500 (Monitor+graphics card - old graphics card=750 max total) if possible.

Im still in love with my 750D case, what a sexy beast

From looking at those benches the memory improvement has made a difference on the 7XX cards as the 770 is just a rebadged 680. But the AMD cards are still ahead and there the last gen ones aswell,no 7950 replacement yet but the 7970 was replaced by the 280X so maybe look at one of them, cheaper aswell.

With the budget (€750?) if you wanted to spend it all you should maybe look at a 780? I reckon thats enough performance for nearly any game at 1440p.

Depends though are you looking at getting a Qnix or Dell/Asus monitor?
If you went with a Qnix you could theoretically get both,Qnix and 780, for around €750

Edit: Ran this card (http://www.hardwareversand.de/3072+MB/106895/PNY+GeForce+GTX+780+XLR8+OC+3072MB+GDDR5.article) through Geizhals.de and comes to €440 so allowing for delivery and the cost of a Qnix your nearly bang on €750:) Theres plenty of cheaper 780's so could get that lower again

Also can someone please teach me to shorten the links,i am dumb:(

Would obviously prefer not to spend it all, but you know yourself.

Qnix + 280x would be 570 give or take, and if I sold current one it'd only cost 300.
    780 would be ~760.
    290 ~700

I'd like to have enough power that I would be set for the next 3 years or so.

I have an fx6300 would that bottleneck much, or would it just need a smallish oc

Or you can use the following BB code.

    type your text here [//url]

Only use one forward slash before the last url, if I do it now all you will see is "type your test here."

Finally got around to formatting my HDD using the Verbatim FAT32 Format tool, handy lil' program so it is.

Still won't power on in the USB 2.0 slots on the front of my case. Gonna bring it over to my girlfriends house later and see if there's any difference with her TV. So strange that it just decided to stop working with her TV..

I doubt anyone actually cares.. but I got my external HDD working with my girlfriends TV again. Changed to a different USB cable and now it works.

    How odd.

Nah, I'm just kidding. I may pick up a PS4 along the lines but I'm in love with PC gaming. It's just fantastic.

I'm going to go for a Dell screen though, with the drop in cost between the Toxic and the MSI it still comes out the same amount. Here's hoping that I'm luckier this time around.

I didn't want say anything a few pages ago after you bought it, but now that you are shipping it back I think the Toxic R9 280X was a bit overpriced anyway, so getting to swap it out for the MSI is a small silver lining IMO :).
