yea ill really be playing with fire. I'm going to get the tempered glass model, which is even more risky. customs could hit me for €100, no warranty outside of South Korea.

EDIT: Both variants have VESA mounts. im not worried about the Gloss, cause i usually play in a dark room. i imagine it would be a nightmare if ive a window behind it in daylight.

I'm guessing it must be the OCZ petrol. I haven't heard news of any other drives coming and SSDs are still in a good position relative to pricing of hard drives.
Although the petrol is definitely a significantly inferior SSD (to the current), maybe people are just buying it as being "good enough" - it will still be much faster than HDD for access.

There could be a price drop in raw materials that we're not seeing on the manufacturer side too.

Tonight I finally changed out the cooler for the FX 8150. It just had the stock. The stock was noisy and stupid. The H60 cooler though is nice. I had to remove the rear case fan to put it on and I didn't have the screws to mount that to the other side of the radiator but it found a new home on the side panel.

Genius father though, after goading me to get around to installing it for him, meanders over to the table and looks at the bare CPU discolored with silver. "What's all this?" *SWIPE FINGER* "who the fcuk told you to touch that then?!?" Oh man, I made him feel like a right eejit. Had to remove the CPU and run the whole thing down with alchohol. Grr! And he had thrown away the tube of silver I bought him (!!!!!!!) so now he has to settle for the stock paste square that came on the H60. Good riddance!

Still runs quiet as hell don't get me wrong but I think I can bring the temps below 50 degrees on Prime95. 58 is a little high for me. I can shift the side panel fan up a position and it will blow into the CPU zone to cool down the H60 and the ATX line. The GPU zone was running much cooler at about 28. I love thermal radar.

The stock paste that comes with the Hydro series coolers is actually some of the best you can buy, so it's good you didn't replace it; odds are the replacement stuff would have been inferior. Next step: Custom water cooling!

Yes, that's exactly why I want to buy one. I don't even have an NVIDIA card, so the 3D functionality is useless to me. You will need to be playing a game where you can uncap your FPS though ... I don't know if it will be any good if you're only rendering 60 fps.

    Never again ordering of dealextreme.
Ordered a HDMI switch off them in January so I could switch between the consoles and the PC without having to change the wires around every time.
Damn thing only arrived today. Works great, but ridiculously long time to wait.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

It varies. I've ordered a load of bits and bobs off them over the past couple of years. The stuff you order from DX is not the stuff you need in a hurry, it's the stuff you want for cheap. I've had stuff arrive in under a week before, but the average time is usually somewhere in and around two weeks.

did you complain? I complained once about something taking 3weeks to arrive, and they refunded me the money and I could keep the product. can't beat that.

I also ordered 2 of a product on a separate occasion and the one was faulty. a quick email and they resent the order, so I got 3 for the price of 2 essentially. happy out.

I'll send an email tomorrow then.
Not sure if its worth it seeing how cheap it was. But might as well.

actually my favorite thing about DX is that by the time you recieve your items, you forgot you had ordered them. like Christmas again. you literally just reminded me that I ordered a few things about 2 weeks ago, so should hopefully should be here soon.

This code VN$XZ5GXFQM6C3 from here gets you 20% off most of these Dell Monitors.

I haven't looked at Monitor prices in forever so I ain't got no clue if good value or not.

Be sure to post a review or at least tell us how the monitor is, they are an absolute steal at €279.

    I will do yea.

    they're down to $334 = ~€254.

The guys on OC.net are organising a group buy with a manufacturer who produces the PCB allowing the monitor to run at 100Hz @ 2560*1440, so add that to the price too.
