well its ultimately your choice. Its just annoying you've been without a PC for so long.

im tempted to buy another extreme 4 and once i get the rma back, sell that

Mostly likely we'll be losing money but not that much and I could have my pc a hell of a lot quicker and there's no guarantee ill get the rma

    idk

I don't know and can't promise anything. either way, its a new board anyway. hopefully you get your money back, or another board to sell. might be neither though. bent pins is something very few vendors will cover.

They're obliged to under Distance Selling regulations if it was defective on receipt, which tbh is sounding very likely at this point. A quick shake of a rig does NOT break all the pins off an Intel mobo socket - have you seen the epic stresses they go through every time some poor techie has to try to remove or replace a pushpin-based HSF? :o

You know your not worth getting banned for

How anyone can make a joke out this situation is beyond me

I mostly likely have to spend 120 plus on a new mobo and I dont have the money since my car is ****ed and have to go to private hospital next week. So please take your ****ing childish pictures else where

Relax yourself, he was trying to be supportive.

You knew the risks. And then you didnt even do the job yourself. Be angry at yourself and not others. Buy a few bloody 230mm fans next time.

Looking to upgrade my network at home in anticipation of adding more wired devices and extending wifi range. I need a 5 port switch and an access point, the switch needs to support gigabit ethernet and the access point, Wireless N.

What would be the most cost effective ones for the job?

In this week's edition of "i'm an idiot and shouldn't be allowed to have nice things", I bumped into my pc and a label on one of the wires started catching on one of the case fans, making an annoying noise.

Instead of in any way using my brain, I removed the side of the case and, with the PC still running and the two screws that hold the side in place in my hand I tried, with the very same hand, to remove the obstruction.

I dropped one of the screws and I could see arcing and my motherboard starting to catch fire.

Astonishingly, I think it's ok. I dropped it over by the I/O plugs so hopefully I just broke one of them rather than my entire motherboard.
I was tempted to put my own head through a wall afterwards for being such a colossal retard.

Arcing as in electricity? Were there flames? Holy ****.

It arced and I could see it catching. It wasn't a bonfire or anything.

I managed to blow it out and turned my computer off. I haven't tried any of the plugs next to it and the PC is running normally.

Because phone companies are tossers I'm still waiting on broadband to activate my OS, download drivers and install all the games and programs I want. Every now and again I forget that my PC is a brick, go switch it on and fiddle around with the settings for 10 minutes.:o

Hopefully I'll get broadband next week and can really get cracking. My PC has now been out of action for 3 months and it's a right pain in the balls that it ostensibly works but I can't do anything because Eircom and Vodaphone are gob****es.

As did I, but I really feel sorry for him. I can only imagine how horrible it is for your life's work to be taken from you by some scumbag in a suit (according to Elric).

He's a good entertainer too, kinda like LinusTechTips. I'm sure he helped thousands of people get into PC gaming, so he should be respected for that.

AH yeah I know him know , I like his reviews he seemed to be a little bit like Linus the one reviewer I cannot stand is Tom Logan he is so boring I would rather watch paint dry . But I will give him credit on how long and how in depth his reviews are .

What was in that video? It is removed now.

Can't say I used him a lot, but I did came around his videos now and then.

Didnt see the full thing, just what others showed on their channels, seems he and his business partner did a deal with a marketing company to ramp up the business but they ran things into the ground, didnt create any new revenue and embezzled funds.

He's using a new channel now as they have control of the old one.

I managed to watch the whole video before it got taken down.

He had created Motherboards.org about twenty years or so back, then paid this group (forget the name) to help develop the website, a Youtube channel, Facebook page, etc. which meant giving up some rights to the company.

As it turns out, these people didn't do much of anything, as twenty years on, Alric still had a very similar site for Motherboards.org. Nothing was done on the contacts side either, as the guy ended up having to go out and make all his own contacts within the industry, and promote the Youtube and Facebook pages himself, as well as maintain the website. It also meant that Alric would be given 10% of all earnings from Motherboards.org. Alric went on to say that the company ended up embezzling money from him.

At some point along the line, the company that he paid to develop things for him, decided that they didn't like what he was doing, going so far as to call his industry contacts saying that they had no right to talk directly with him, and should be talking with them. At some point, things came to ahead, and he was fired.

Disjointed, but the basics are there, running on a few days old memory here.

    Brian you know your headphones

How would you get headphones like Sennheiser HD 598 working on a ps3?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,387 ✭✭✭glynf

    @Brian,

    Like your thinking:D

Did you get it in a scrap yard? Thought of doing similar, car seat grafted onto a swivel chair base. Never reaslised how heavy car seats were though till I took the seats out of my A5, the weight of them

Was thinking about picking up an old lexus or S class seat and doing similar a while back, interest now renewed!

Thinking I could build a decent base from 40mm unistrut, as you can can get casters for same to move it. Wouldn't be the prettiest, but it would hold..

The way I do it is use the RCA out from the PS3 for audio, HDMI for video.

RCA left and right channels connect with an RCA to 3.5mm female adapter, from there, headphones plug in. It's all a bit ghetto.
