Can a person die instantly without getting shot in the head?

TC, I had exactly the same thought as you before and after thinking about it I became convinced that it is impossible to die instantly from anything but a headshot (and even a headshot may not cause instant death... you can be braindead without being totally dead).

So all those movies and computer games where you see a guy being shot in the stomach/chest (or leg even worse) and falling down instantly dead are a lie. The Aztecs used to even have enough time to rip out the heart of the man and show it to him before he died, so it's not like your brain or other organs can't go a little bit without a full blood supply.

You would more then likely fall down instantly, you might not die instantly but at the end of the day guns are very good at killing people.
