    But very early yet :)

All over the place on 2 but, could be on for a bird.

    3 over after 2.

    Two short ones missed :(

A 3ft putt missed on his first followed by a 4ft on his second... that's a problem.

I guess he thinks its only fair to give the field a few shots at the start. To make it more challenging like :D

I think he wanted to give the not back lads hope - then he is going to have 4 birds in last 12.

A sign hes going to struggle massively on this particular tournament.

However the win last time out does give hope that he can get back on track in a future tournament - ie after this one

I know - the above was likely.

But seriously is it early for a sign ?

He has only taken 5 full shots.

Will be interesting - if he can calm now - and stay par - that would be a sign for me.

A fair point - I suppose im thinking it will be hard for him to get a quick turnaround after a nightmare start.

    Another 3 footer for par

I guess he was back for long enough to win last time - so hopefully he may be back again

    Get in the hole :D

    He is back

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,797 ✭✭✭Old diesel

Was that on hole 5 or 6

Leaderboard was showing him as 2 over through 5 a minute or 2 ago.

Although I know its often slow to update

At least he's stopped the rot and managed to sink a decent putt for a birdie on the par 5 14th.

5th hole was the one I was referring too.

I think he struggles to achieve consistency really - so it was always going to be hard to put two performances back to back

    For example - we had

    Decent performance in Dunhill links

    Mediocre performances in US

    Win in Indonesia

    More struggles in the US

    Win in US

Very much up and down - the win was still great for him as it takes a lot of pressure of him regarding tour cards, sponsors invites etc etc

Even in his prime, he rarely followed a win with a very good week. Like you say, pressures off now. A few good performances over the next couple of months and I'll be happy!

Crikey lads get a grip. This often happens with pros the next tournament after a win. Invariably they miss the cut, don't know why but it so often happens. I reckon he has hardly hit a ball since he won the Honda, he said himself he was taking a break. The masters will be the one that matters.

Tournament between now and then will help him sharpen his game.

I would also take those shot trackers with a pinch of salt, they are often well off with distances particularly on putting distances.
