Because I couldn't narrow it down any further, here are a bunch of my favourite games from my childhood on! I've limited it to the ones I don't recall being put up elsewhere in the thread!

Wow! Haven't seen that one in a while. I loved the "god mode" in it.
Had some good times in multiplayer with it.

And also Raptor: Call of the Shadows, simply because it was one of the first ever games I got stuck into, it's a bit mindless and terribly dated now, but I still fire it up the odd time here and there in Dosbox.

Haha, I only had a demo for this one, which only covered a few levels. That way, you couldn't see what the best weapons were. But then I discovered you could abandon a mission halfway through a level and keep the pickups you got. You could then go to the shop and sell them. You could even sell your health down to 25 or 50%. So a lot of half missions later, I could get any weapon I wanted on level 1.

Most of the favourites have already been posted. The Command & Conquers, Unreal Tournament 99, Civilisation 2, Half-Life, Fallout 3 and scorched earth.

Of all the fantastic RPGs I've played, this one is above and beyond the best. It's frightening, sexy, imaginative, rich and has massive replay value: I completed it with every class.

Well worth your while even now. It hasn't aged that much really. The story and characters and atmosphere are what make it though so you're good to go!

SWAT 4, pity there'll never be another as Sierra Games (made 1st F.E.A.R also) are no more, Activision killed them after taking them over

Wut? Monolith developed FEAR 1 and Irrational developed SWAT 4. While the games were published by Vivendi and Sierra respectively, the FEAR IP is back in the hands WB whereas the SWAT IP is probably owned by Activision since it was originally a Sierra property and they were, of course, swallowed up during the Vivendi Games merger.

Both ace games though, even if I am worried about Fear 3. :o
