This is random - but is there anywhere in Limerick that does chocolate covered nuts, dried fruit - trail mix style pick 'n' mix ? not regular sweets. If that makes sense. I know some of the pick 'n' mix counters often have chocolate covered peanuts but im looking for a place that most of the options are "healthier" options like nuts/dried fruit.

Several personal injuries claims already against the childrens playground in the Crescent. Was the installation was somehow connected to mains voltage or rife with razor sharp edges through poor design? Or do some parents need a running funt up the hole?

Unless the playground actually fell apart causing injury any judge in their right mind will tell the parents to take a hike.

Not sure what to think about that drunk driver good Samaritan lady on the Childers road, can't condone drunk driving and not sure what else he could have done but it seems a bit jobsworthy from the guard.

So an on duty Garda arresting a woman who was 5 times over the legal limit is being jobsworthy?

It's attitudes like that, that make people think it's okay to drive like that. With that level of alcohol in her system, she shouldn't have been in charge of a buggy let alone a car.

Agreed, and I would be one of them. There's a social responsibility to condenm drink drivers, until it becomes socially unacceptable there'll be more and more alcohol related deaths on our roads.

Attitudes like the one in the post I originally quoted only make those that do drive after alcohol believe that society is behind them.

I haven't a leg to stand on in this debate and will make no effort to defend myself from the backlash on my original comment, I have zero sympathy for drink drivers and thankfully as a nation we seem to be moving away from it in general.
My comment was meant to be lighthearted in a way, when I read the story I couldn't help but feel a bit of sympathy for the woman, we also bitch about the fact that nobody helps out someone in trouble anymore.
Anyway, apologies if I have offended the sensibilities of the Limerick boards crew.

If i walk onto the walks by the canal near the Absolute Hotel - do they lead to U.L?

They do indeed. When you get to the end of the canal, there is a bridge, you want to head right at the river which will bring you to UL.

Thanks! Im from Limerick but have never walked the entire length of these banks - just a section by U.L. Is this the starting point for them in the city?

I tried to look them up online but couldnt find a concrete answer! It looks like a really nice walk.

What is the problem with Parnell Street? It is a busy street, albeit run down a bit but it's never quiet.

I've lived here near two years and walk it everyday and its a constant string of socially undesirable types standing around, causing trouble, all day every day.

Why can't it be sorted out?

Exactly. Parnell street is right between the dole office and a certain area where unemployment is high. Add a bookies, an offie, a casino and a few pubs in and the result is Parnell street

Also i think in most cities areas around the main bus/train station are always a bit dodgy.

Folks, does anyone know if the recycling centre in Shanagolden takes old motor oil? If not can someone point me in the right direction? My last 2 jobs had oil disposal facilities so I never once had to look for a place to get rid of it.
