This is pretty random, but quite fascinating. The mystery of the Monster of the Limerick Docks.

    http://www.fustar.info/2007/05/27/249/

    Believe it if ya like!:pac:

Hmm given the stretch of water near Foynes is mentioned, and given that there are porpoise in the Shannon estuary plus the fact that the Shannon estuary is home to Ireland's only resident group of bottlenose dolphin, methinks whatever was seen was possibly one of those options, or it could have been a freak occurance like when a number of Killer Whale (which technically is not actually a whale) came up the Lee and ended smack in the middle of Cork city some years back.

While I was sitting in my car I saw a woman across the road with her kid, her kid picked something off the ground and they looked at it for awhile, then walked over to me and tapped on my window. She asked me if I knew the name on the card (why would I know?!) then she asked if she should put it in the letter box, (why would you put it in the letter box) I told her that she should drop it off at the bank. She was taken aback and said, "but it's up on William Street" (we were near to the courthouse, not a million miles away from William Street).
I could tell it was going into the letter box, so asked if she wanted me to drop it in for her, she didn't really answer, more threw it at me and left. It took a whole 5 minutes out of my life to drop the card to the bank (which was in the parkway too, so I drove).
    People, eh.

I should have mentioned that I suppose, but was too busy ranting :D

on another note, came home there to find some "Occupy Limerick" flyer taped to the front gate, said i may as well post it in here for those that might just be curious about the idea, there's a meeting tonight in baker place at 7 o clock.

while it's not an idea i myself agree with, i would have been curious enough to attend if i didnt already have another meeting to go to at 7 o clock.

might be an opportunity for a few good photos though XiledSniper?

ps. since i wont be there, could you start a chinese whisper on my behalf to suggest they occupy Dominic Street and dont cause an embarrassing eyesore in the city centre? :p

Shush, don't kill the mystery :D

Yep seems like a plausible explanation, but you know how these stories over the years are prone to growing legs, or in this case tentacles!

I'm going to bite my lip over the Occupy (socialists).

On another note, do the Soundstore/Harvey Norman/Electonics mini-newspapers that come in your door make you go to their shop? They just pile into my recycling.

i usually read through them alright but i do be in those stores a lot anyway, because being able to advise my customers about their products would be part of my business, on the other hand i also read the Lidl and Aldi ones simply in the vain hope that one day they'll have a shredder you can attach to the inside of your letterbox specifically for this kind of markeing material! :D

I put up one of those "No Junk Mail" signs a few months ago and it's worked, even stops the crowd with the junk clothing leaflets

The odd one or two still sneaks through though, and if I ever catch them in the process there'll be trouble :D

Actually I must invest in one of those, do you know if there is a small sticky one I can put on the letter box.

Oh those badly spelled clothes ones are going to start diminishing now that there are at least 2 drop off, money-4-clothes shops in the city. The sign in the Parkway one is €5 for 10kg, while the Corbally Supervalu one is €8 for 10kg. Best buck for your old clothes.

85% of tall buildings don't haves 13th floor
It is one of 12a sometimes just floor m (13 letter in the alphabet) or skipped straight to 14
Alot of government buildings have one usually used for air con control electric boards etc
leading to alot of conspiracy that secret government dept are hidden there
Except in china where floors 4 14 and 24 don't exist
As four is associated with death

That's what I have , no idea where the missus got it tho.Looks like a freebie from the city council or something.

Anyone see the new message screen at the city of the Dooradoyle flyover?
    Looks good!

Dual Carraigeway coming in from Shannon & Corbally Road as well.

I thought it was strange that on the Corbally road the sign says "Welcome to Limerick City". Surely most people coming in from Corbally and further beyond are aware of that.

May be handy around Christmas when it can say "Free Parking in City Centre"

Many of those signs now, theres one by TK Maxx, one just before the Coonagh roundabout and one at the start of the Condell road. They should really be used for traffic info etc and not "Limerick City- Great Value..."

Just saw it out by Corbally when I was comming home. Looks well!

Those signs you guys are talking about are for the new car park information signs like you see in other cities telling people how many spaces are left in each car park, great idea i think will show the people who say there is no where to park where the spaces are.

They are finalising the IT with the car parks and it should be up and running by xmas

    "average" size you say?

my experience would thankfully suggest otherwise, more like 34 C/D to 36/38 DD/F... :)

EDIT: i wonder does this include those who have had, em, artificial enhancement? :D
