Left Limerick with a nice and warm 18 degrees. Around Adare, I could see in the distance that it was very black, but OMG, unbelievable rain on the far side of Adare.

For the first time in my life, I had to pull in cos I couldn't see in front of me  everyone in both directions pulled in cos there was very heavy hailstones falling, accompanied by lightening, presume there was thunder too but couldn't hear it over the sound of the hailstones hitting the car. It was a cold 12 degrees in the midst of it

I had a summer downpour pull over incident once, on the N10 in Kilkenny it was like driving in a car wash on a turbo setting so I pulled in and waited for the windscreen to smash down into my lap!

had a serious thunder shower with what i saw one flash of sheet lightning and two distant rumbles, looks like the area to the south of trim got the worst of it,sky was really black and the rain torrential for about 5-6 mins.

14.3c and 96% humidity  (can that reading be correct?)

Sounds about right. It's the same here,it's gotten heavier as the evening has gone on.

And now we have the first precipitation of the day.

Some evening in newcastlewest in co. limerick yesterday...began at about 5pm....sky was so dark it was like night, then some brilliant fork and sheet lightning for about 30-40mins and intense thunder...then what i can only describe as a cloudburst....mental rain, caused alot of trouble on the roads with flash floods, eased to normal rain after about 10mins but was really heavy and muggy for the rest of the evening
