Had some Innis & Gunn earlier. It was ok but wasn't impressed by it.

I just has a Delirium Tremens and then a Delirium Nocturnum.
The Tremens was absolutely delicious, but the Nocturnum wasn't my cup of tea. It has some complex flavours going on, and I can definitely see its appeal, but alas it's not for me.

I'll report of Innis &Gunn Rum Cask tomorow. :D

Monteith's Original Ale and Celtic Red Beer.

Montheith's turns out to be a New Zealand Brewery and I was pleasently surprised to find their range in my Local Harvest and delighted to see their 330ml bottles were priced at €1.80 each ... sounded good so I had to give them a try. And even got 6 for €10. There was 5 in the range available but I got 2 of each of the Ale the red and the stout. Was not overly interesting in their larger and pilsner.

So far Monteith's Original Ale and Celtic Red Beer.

Neither are overly hopped but both seem rich and silky which for me really works. The Celtic Red is borbering on sweet but there's a nice smokiness to it ??? The Ale is a real smooth ale but comes across with plenty of rewarding complexity.

I was very tempted to go for a few Sierra Nevada's as I love that big American hop punch but I'm really glad I tried these and if they are a regular feature I think I'll be getting more

The Original Ale is finished and half way through the Celtic Red and it is now being joined by a very complimentry Laphroaig Quarter Cask

    Now half way through

Not the bottled version, but it's decent on draught.

Finally got around to drinking the bottle of broadside the other day and I found it very decent. Most get my hands on some more Adnam's stuff.

Also had a bottle of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale the other day and really enjoyed it, but funnily enough, I didn't really like it the 1st time I tried it

Picked up a selection of beers yesterday in Deveneys including Augustiner Dunkel. Had it last night and really enjoyed it. Not as dark as some dunkels, more a rich amber colour. Very flavoursome and not too high a vol at 5.6%

Innis & Gunn Rum Cask is an amazing beer, but I don't think there's much more of it left around.

Also, Chimay Bleu is amazing. Has some of that last night.

Just discovered a crate of Tetley's Bitter in my parents' basement. They must have picked it up last time they went up north. It's not going to set the world alight, but it's a damn fine drink nonetheless.

The Odell IPA was also excellent.
I think I like this brewery a lot!
    Anyone else try these beers?

Excellent brewery. I had these and also these.

Having a few Grimbergen's tonight - not too bad at all. Very crisp, with a fruity aroma. There's a few cans of Hertog Jan pilsener in the fridge too, not too bad either but more of a summery beer imo - both would be fantastic refreshments on a hot day.

I went a bit crazy in The Abbot's today.
My Christmas stash looks like this (in no particular order):

    Cantillion Gueze 100% Lambic Bio
    Cantillion Kriek 100% Lambic Bio
Flying Dog Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale
    Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA
Sierra Nevada Celebration Fresh Hop Ale
Sierra Nevada Tumbler Autumn Brown Ale
    Sierra Nevada Torpedo Ale
    Odell Brewing Co. IPA
    Odell Brewing Co Isolation Ale
Odell Brewing Co 5 Barrel Pale Ale
Odell Brewing Co St. Lupin Extra Pale Ale
Pierre Cellis Signature Selection Grottenbier Bruin Bierre des Grottese
    Anchor Humming Ale
Goose Island Sofie Belgian Style Ale
    Porterhouse Brianblásta
    Porterhouse Hop Head
    Porterhouse Celebration Stout
    Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout

I think that covers the new additions to my understairs stash!

I don't think I'll be drinking all these this week or next.

Note to self: I do not need to buy any more beer. I do not need to buy any more beer. I do not need to buy any more beer......

    33" Export

Bought two cases in France recently for €11 or something. Horrid stuff but I need to get rid of it I guess.

Shopping this week will consist of Erdinger in Tesco.

I may interest some of you to know that I am a Sales Rep for the Erdinger Distributor in Ireland, Noreast.(Amongst many other brands)

Obviously I'm not trying to sell my product here because its trade customers only but you can always have a look at the product list and see where from the brand / ambassador outlets on the website where they can be bought around your area.

    http://www.noreast.ie

If there is an "Introduce yourself" thread please put me in touch with it. ;)

Yes and no but at the very last minute my local supermarket will do just fine.

Speaking of Dunkel. I was in Westbeer in Glasgow last weekend and had a nice Dunkel made on site.

    http://www.westbeer.com/

Very nice. If you are in Glasgow the bus tour goes right passed the Winter Palace, jump off and its right next door. :D

The Bull & Castle link is wonky, and it and the Castle Inn are the same place.

Yep: more Budvar Dark please. I've not seen St Peter's Old Style Porter in ages. Is it still around?
