I have to do my finger and toe nails every week... usually on a sunday......makes me feel pretty and i think it makes feet look alot nice!
although if your feet are all flaky and dry its not so good!

I paint my toe nails and do feel better but i'm really paranoid about my feet they used to be okay but the past couple of years i've developed bunion type things on my toes and my toes are squished up and out of shape:( My uncle actually pointed it out to me before that they were a state how nice of him.

I always have my nails painted so I've no idea what kind of attention non-painted toe nails get! Nice feet are just nice though. I read in a book once something about there being a relationship between how a person looks after their hands and feet and their general hygiene. I dunno. I'd feel like I'd left the house with no underwear on if I was nail varnish less! It's a finishing touch, I guess.

From a guys point of view, I'd really just think to myself "Oh look, her toe nails are purple/red/blue/orange or whatever mad colour you can come up with", rather than a "Yer wans toe nails are very sexy" type of way.

    That's just me though.

    I lol'd.

I think if a man in Jesus sandals painted his toenails I'd be more likely to think "Omg colours!" rather than "Mmm toes"

I remember hearing on the Ray Darcy show that a person who looks after their feet, looks after themselves well in general - health, beauty, fitness etc.

I guess it makes sense - inthat you pamper yourself from top to toe! But I guess not everyone has the time for a weekly pedicure!

I've never had a professional pedicure done but I'm seriously considering it for my to-do list!!

Just bought myself a pair of black gladiator sandals today and have just painted my toenails black - tres chic! Watch out boys ! ! ! :D

Feet disgust me. However i think that sandals with painted nails are quite nice :]

Just don't touch me with them ;)

I like my feet, they're pretty! And I always have my toenails painted some nice bright colour, usually purple or pink or turquoise etc. Does anyone else notice that, when you paint your toenails, it lasts aaaages without chipping? It's great :)

I absolutely hate French pedicures! It makes the toes look like short fat deformed fingers! Eww ...

I dunno, the french pedicures thing has grown on me, I don't mind them now.

I prefer bright polish though. You can get away with a lot more on your toes (even decals) than on your fingers. (Not that that's ever stopped me from painting my fingernails weird colours, although I generally only do it when they're cut short)

Most of my male friends have said they notice a girls feet, especially if the toes are painted, but its not in a foot fetish 'sexy' way at all, they just think its cute and feminine.

I had assumed they'd be completely indifferent to feet but seems to be a lot more common than I had figured!

I have noticed the toe/foot affect before and always make sure to have my toes painted. I also add a touch of sun shimmer to the feet if I'm wearing jeans. Good job nobody can see the rest of my legs though because they're so pale it's scary.

Lol! Exactly, same here. I do pain my nails and take care of my feet but I still hate them. Not just my feet or other womens, any feet in general. Just think they're the creepiest part of the body! Ha.
A guy I used to fancy was flirting with me one night when we were drinking and he said he would love to "suck on my toes" and I was seriously speechless!! I know there are lots of different fetishes out there but it was just such a turn off to me. Needless to say I haven't kept in contact with him!!

Well thats sad, you don't see him because he said he'd love to suck your toes?
Maybe he chickened out on the last word?......

I'm a guy and if you don't like the look of yer own feet imagine what ye would think of mine, I have somethig called hammered toes and the toes on both my feet next to my big toe look severely broken all the time

Just said I'd let you all know I'm doing my bit to bring out the summer sun, as I have just painted my toenails bright red!

Come on out Mr. Sun - my sandals want to come out of hibernation!!

Oh and I will watch out for *all* those guys checking out my feet!!! :)

I've never gotten attention for painted toes but I have an awesome pair of red patent shoes that always get commented on! Maybe I need to paint my nails next time I rock a pair of peep-toes so I can maximise the impact of the toe-cleavage:D

I don't get the whole 'feet are freaky' thing, 2 of my closest friends are like that and you can't even touch them accidently! I don't get the other extreme either, I've never had my toes sucked (maybe I'm missing out!) but as a chat-up line it would put me off - like the time some guy asked if he could 'lick my teeth', it really freaked me out (I don't like dentists...)

My ex has a foot fetish. He'd get erections in public from nicely manicured, sandal-clad feet.

    TMI, I know.

snap re the red shoes - I was walking through town during a fairly yukky day a few weeks back about 9.15am.......and a lady said as she walked by me 'your shoes are a vision of fabulousness on this rotten day, you've really cheered me up'.............and I thought 'well, that's something nice to hear on a yukky morning'

I used to hate my feet or anyone elses, but despite (sometimes) the rest of me looking absolute ****e and no one seeing my toes, I love to paint them red. There is something wonderful about painted toe nails. It is fun and cute. Having said that I have never been aware of anyone checking my feet out, but then again I keep them hidden, methinks it is time to invest in sandals.

I love painting my toenails, it really cheers me up having a pop of colour somewhere! I rarely paint my nails with anything other than clear polish/french manicure, so go crazy with toe colours :) Gives me happy feet!

Love painting my toes bright colours. :D I can't wait to wear sandals, flipflops, and peep toed flats when the sun finally decides to warm up the earth!

I have a lovely turqoisey greeny colour on my toes right now. I love it, when I had it on my finger nails it got loads of compliments from the ladies, and even turned a barmans head! :)

Always have my toenails painted, makes my feet happy I think:)Neverseen anyone looking at them though:(

I paint mine to generally improve the appearance of my feet. I never even thought it would bet a mans attention! I would be surprised if it does.

As an experiment thanks to reading this thread, I painted my fingernails and toenails a lovely shade of turkish hooker red today and wore my sandals out...and you're right, people were definitely looking - not that I saw anyone looking at my feet lustily but they certainly got more attention than usual...that could just be folks wondering who is mad enough to be wearing sandals in march tho! :o

American women often have nice French polish. I like it it shows attention to detail and pride in appearance that's more impressive than a brand name hand bag will ever do ( or God forbid U@$ boots or fake tan)

Other discerning gents also appreciate it. It's a lot cheaper in US in fairness but a lot of that is due to higher volume I'd say

isn't there some psychological theory that I can't be bothered looking up that says it's kind of all in our heads, something like bias affirmation I think i.e. if we change our hair colour or paint our nails or wear a colour top we normally don't wear or whatever, we notice other people noticing it more which does not necessarily mean that more people are paying more attention, it just means we are more conscious/aware of the style/colour change and are therefore also more aware of others looking at the new hairstyle/nail colour/pink belt or whatever

of course if you do something really extreme like getting a tattoo of a giant rabbit eating harry potter on your forehead then yes you may get a few extra looks but stuff like painting your toenails is not particularly remarkable or extraordinary and I would suggest it's more a case of you being more conscious of your nail colours and therefore being more biased in terms of projecting that awareness of your changing nail colour onto others

i've heard guys comment on a almost everything you can imagine about ladies but never, ever, ever in my whole life have I heard a guy said "jeez, your one had the cutest toenails and most beautifully painted toenails I've ever seen".....although it's possible they may just add to the overall picture of cuteness/femininity for some, but in general I think most men are simple creatures with a very straightforward logic that computes in their brains, Do I like her face/hair? If Yes then move to next question, Do I like her body shape? If Yes then I am attracted to her (all computed in about .5 seconds). I often wonder if all the accessorizing of the look is really necessary

Well, three people actually commented on the nail colour and one other commented that I was brave enough to wear sandals so clearly people do notice these things...

Yeah I always paint my toenails. People often see my toenails (swimming) so I like them looking nice :) Plus I'm not allowed paint my fingernails due to work...so have to use nail-varnish somewhere!

Wonder if ye painted each toenail a different colour would us man folk end up getting confused and start thinking that there was a rainbow on yer feet?!:pac:
(ok, so I'm not sure myself where I'm going with that one!)
but yes, always nice to see painted nicely
