Painted toenails getting males attention

With the summer sun peeping through the clouds over the last few days I decided to paint my toes red and don my summer sandals. Walking around town I couldn't get over the male attention my toes seemed to get! Anyone else notice this effect? :)

You must have nice toes anyway - having them painted is the icing on top!

One of my friends has a foot fetish and he loves seeing girls with their toes painted nicely. Have to say I get a lil creeped out when *anyone* stares at my toes/feet even when I'm wearing sandals..i hate feet!

    UGH FEET :eek::eek::eek:

But seriously my tattoo on my foot gets looks rather than my toenails

    God, I hope not . . . if so, I'm going to stop painting my toenails . . .

From a guys point of view, I'd really just think to myself "Oh look, her toe nails are purple/red/blue/orange or whatever mad colour you can come up with", rather than a "Yer wans toe nails are very sexy" type of way.

    That's just me though.

It amazes me how many women are creeped out by their own feet, I'm training to be a masseuse and had to convince my missus to give her a foot massage (after the first time I didnt need to convince her again though :D) but any women I ask if they want it done they dont even like me looking at their feet, never mind touching them.

but back on topic, yeah, painted toenails can be sexy

I'm not creeped out by my feet. I mean, they're not particularly great looking because they're massive (I must be part saskwatch) but I don't mind them. They get me where I'm going.

I WOULD be creeped out if a guy seemed really interested in my feet though. Foot fetishes creep women out because we can usually pick and choose who we turn on - with a foot fetish a guy might be turned on by your feet and you didn't intend it. It's like... an invasion of privacy even if it's the fetishist's own private thoughts, it just feels like they're fantasising about you without your permission. If that makes sense.

Feet creep me out too, doesn't matter if they are womens or mens. In saying that, I take care of mine and I do use nail varnish on them. I think thats more about me being able to stand looking at them moreso for any attention they might receive.

Ha its a handy trait to have alright, free backrubs and footrubs when she likes, am like her fecking slave on call to rub various bits of her, i dont mind though :D

I'm a boy, i'd do anything a girl wants except suck her toes etc. it ****ing disgusts me lol but painting your toenails makes it a bit better...

Eh, it depends, if she was just out of the shower or bath and they were nice and clean then its a fun part of sexy time, wouldnt be something I'd do all the time but occasionally its nice, my missus is super ticklish when it comes to her feet though, I only have to touch them and shes squealing (calm down:pac:) but since I've learned how give footrubs properly without tickling she doesnt mind so much, and she has pretty feet :)

From a mans perspective... I love toes feet and legs... always have..

However i dont think its the paint its the fact that it draws attention to the feet in general...

Having said that I think thats a good thing.

Lol! Exactly, same here. I do pain my nails and take care of my feet but I still hate them. Not just my feet or other womens, any feet in general. Just think they're the creepiest part of the body! Ha.
A guy I used to fancy was flirting with me one night when we were drinking and he said he would love to "suck on my toes" and I was seriously speechless!! I know there are lots of different fetishes out there but it was just such a turn off to me. Needless to say I haven't kept in contact with him!!

Masseur...masseur;) Yes I had to do that during my own training, wasnt helpful when half my class were freaked out about feet:p That being said I love giving a foot massage:)

And bringing it back on topic, its more the nice colouring that would draw my attention to a woman's toes being painted, rather than the toes themselves:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 337 ✭✭pearliefan

Yeah I don't get people not liking their feet either... ok, some people don't have very nice feet!!
But I generally like feet and I like my feet, and on topic, I love having painted toenails!! Though I rarely do it except for the summer....

    You guys mean masseur! :D

I like my feet, I usually paint the toe nails if I'm wearing flip flops. Can't say I've noticed any attention.. But I do think men subconciously associate red nail varnish with sexiness. TV's slutty women generally wear "hooker" red nail varnish, Jessica Rabbit has her red dress etc.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,288 ✭✭✭pow wow

I have funny shaped toenails and polish accentuates it! That said, a little bit of ruby red does turn heads...hopefully not just because they're noticing my deformed talons :o

Ha you're right, I keep referring to myself in a female term:D massage therapist then, happy :pac:

i cant wait for it to be nice enough to wear sandals out in public!i just got some new ones off asos.com,now to find some nice nail varnish!

Ok so I painted my toe-nails Sunday and yesterday I was out walking, dunno if it was the sun being out or my sexy (ugly)toenails or not but I thought there were more people looking my way :D

Pity nobody asked lala out with her red toenails :)

Omg. I would have puked on the spot! 0/

I know its like a fetishy thing.. but what the hell do they get out of it?! Maybe I'm just far to repelled by feet that theres not a hope of me understanding it... bleugh :(

im not a massive fan of my feet but i think putting nail polish on my toenails makes them much prettier. i did it for the first time this year on saturday when the sun came out, and they are now purple with little blue sparkly jewels on the big toes :D (sounds a bit mental but it works )

Is it hard to paint your own toenails? I have never tried but maybe this weekend I might give it a go. I have quite nice feet and I love waering sandals and wedges when the weather is nice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,085 ✭✭✭Xiney

It's just as easy as painting your own fingernails really... some cotton balls to keep the toes seperate are a good idea though, and wearing no socks or shoes for at least a couple of hours afterwards.

some people seem to be able to do it easily, i end up with nailvarnish all over my toes. however i fix it with cotton buds and nail varnish remover :)

I have to do my finger and toe nails every week... usually on a sunday......makes me feel pretty and i think it makes feet look alot nice!
although if your feet are all flaky and dry its not so good!

I paint my toe nails and do feel better but i'm really paranoid about my feet they used to be okay but the past couple of years i've developed bunion type things on my toes and my toes are squished up and out of shape:( My uncle actually pointed it out to me before that they were a state how nice of him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,713 ✭✭✭✭Novella

I always have my nails painted so I've no idea what kind of attention non-painted toe nails get! Nice feet are just nice though. I read in a book once something about there being a relationship between how a person looks after their hands and feet and their general hygiene. I dunno. I'd feel like I'd left the house with no underwear on if I was nail varnish less! It's a finishing touch, I guess.

    I lol'd.

I think if a man in Jesus sandals painted his toenails I'd be more likely to think "Omg colours!" rather than "Mmm toes"

I remember hearing on the Ray Darcy show that a person who looks after their feet, looks after themselves well in general - health, beauty, fitness etc.

I guess it makes sense - inthat you pamper yourself from top to toe! But I guess not everyone has the time for a weekly pedicure!

I've never had a professional pedicure done but I'm seriously considering it for my to-do list!!

Just bought myself a pair of black gladiator sandals today and have just painted my toenails black - tres chic! Watch out boys ! ! ! :D

Feet disgust me. However i think that sandals with painted nails are quite nice :]

Just don't touch me with them ;)

I like my feet, they're pretty! And I always have my toenails painted some nice bright colour, usually purple or pink or turquoise etc. Does anyone else notice that, when you paint your toenails, it lasts aaaages without chipping? It's great :)

I absolutely hate French pedicures! It makes the toes look like short fat deformed fingers! Eww ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,085 ✭✭✭Xiney

I dunno, the french pedicures thing has grown on me, I don't mind them now.

I prefer bright polish though. You can get away with a lot more on your toes (even decals) than on your fingers. (Not that that's ever stopped me from painting my fingernails weird colours, although I generally only do it when they're cut short)

Most of my male friends have said they notice a girls feet, especially if the toes are painted, but its not in a foot fetish 'sexy' way at all, they just think its cute and feminine.

I had assumed they'd be completely indifferent to feet but seems to be a lot more common than I had figured!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 458 ✭✭Boxoffrogs

I have noticed the toe/foot affect before and always make sure to have my toes painted. I also add a touch of sun shimmer to the feet if I'm wearing jeans. Good job nobody can see the rest of my legs though because they're so pale it's scary.

I'm a guy and if you don't like the look of yer own feet imagine what ye would think of mine, I have somethig called hammered toes and the toes on both my feet next to my big toe look severely broken all the time

Just said I'd let you all know I'm doing my bit to bring out the summer sun, as I have just painted my toenails bright red!

Come on out Mr. Sun - my sandals want to come out of hibernation!!

Oh and I will watch out for *all* those guys checking out my feet!!! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 446 ✭✭Up-n-atom!

I've never gotten attention for painted toes but I have an awesome pair of red patent shoes that always get commented on! Maybe I need to paint my nails next time I rock a pair of peep-toes so I can maximise the impact of the toe-cleavage:D

I don't get the whole 'feet are freaky' thing, 2 of my closest friends are like that and you can't even touch them accidently! I don't get the other extreme either, I've never had my toes sucked (maybe I'm missing out!) but as a chat-up line it would put me off - like the time some guy asked if he could 'lick my teeth', it really freaked me out (I don't like dentists...)

My ex has a foot fetish. He'd get erections in public from nicely manicured, sandal-clad feet.

    TMI, I know.

snap re the red shoes - I was walking through town during a fairly yukky day a few weeks back about 9.15am.......and a lady said as she walked by me 'your shoes are a vision of fabulousness on this rotten day, you've really cheered me up'.............and I thought 'well, that's something nice to hear on a yukky morning'

I used to hate my feet or anyone elses, but despite (sometimes) the rest of me looking absolute ****e and no one seeing my toes, I love to paint them red. There is something wonderful about painted toe nails. It is fun and cute. Having said that I have never been aware of anyone checking my feet out, but then again I keep them hidden, methinks it is time to invest in sandals.
