That "fateful night" in 2005 is the night Jim McDaid drove down the motorway (N7) the wrong way after a day's drinking at the punchestown races.

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2005/0427/mcdaidj.html

Could this be the same useless prick who came on RTE recently and said the answer to Head shops was education about the dangers of their products - like there was no publicity/education about the dangers of drink driving before his episode! What a waste of space.

Rachel Allen is too posh for my liking.

Gilbert should have dedicated "Alone again" for Nuala.

Really enjoyed Gilbert O - jaysus, still sounds exactly like he did 30 odd years ago.
What's with the 'you're welcome home' bit RT did every song?
I'll be keeping an eye out for that doc on RTE in a couple of weeks...real nice to hear of him again.

    Bit picky aren't you ;)

That's why I'm as single as Nuala Carey...

I really dont understand why Jim is bringing this up now. Suppose he sure of a soft ride from his party colleague anyway.

Some decision of the guard to turn around and follow him down the wrong side.. double the chance of an accident. Defies logic...

I have to say I've always found Jim to be an honest guy, unique among FF TDs. No spin about him normally. Tubridy giving him an easy ride as you expect.

Joe Duffy would be proud of you .. ROFL...

Bit bizarre the way he stopped the discussion on drink driving short and then progressed on to politics. Sort of belittles the reason that he was brought on.

Eamonn dunphy on with his daughter next.. tissues at the ready...

nb. tissues to be used only to empathize with Mr Dunphy, not as part of fantasy about his daughter.

That discussion on being single was a total waste of time. It could have been so much better and actually informative if there were half good people on the panel. There could have been a decent discussion about single 20's and 30's as there is a difference between the age groups. Nuala Carey is a total snob and doesn't represent most single 30+ women. And Tubridy laughed the whole way through it as usual, instead of guiding the discussion.
