Can't believe you wrote that. My daughters diabetic only insulin can help her. You can't be telling me that if I believe in god that I should of stayed at home. If I had of done she would be dead. Last year an all believing couple let their child die from diabetes because they prayed for god to save her. They never sought medical help. S**t happens and when it does we have to deal with it. Also another point Does it not say in the bible god helps those who helps themselves. I believe in a god but not catholic or church of England.

I'm not actually saying you shouldn't seek help but you have to acknowledge that if you believe that god answers prayers and that if he chooses not to then that's his will then not seeking help makes sense. I'm arguing that you shouldn't believe in a religion that makes not seeking help make sense

Or move for that matter. Why eat when God will look after me?
Reminds me of teh story about the man on the roof during a flood. He refuses to take assistance from a rescue helicopter because he is certain God will sav him. When he dies and goes to heaven he asks God, "Why didn't you save me?" God replies, "What do you think the helicopter was for?!"
Why these people can't replace 'man on roof' with 'sick daughter' and 'rescue helicopter' with 'doctors and medicine' we'll never know.

Nah the one about the bloke [insert stereotype of race or religion known to be mean] who prays every day to God to let him win the lottery but weeks go by and nothing. Finally in church he pleads with God, "why won't you help me in my time of need" and God appears and says "[Stereotypical Name for member of race or religion] meet me half-way. Buy a ticket".

A Bernard Manning original so that might help you to put it in context.

    Suspicious, no?..

"In 1999, John Cornwell's Hitler's Pope criticized Pius for not doing enough, or speaking out enough, against the Holocaust. Cornwell argued that Pius's entire career as the nuncio to Germany, cardinal secretary of state, and pope was characterized by a desire to increase and centralize the power of the Papacy, and that he subordinated opposition to the Nazis to that goal. He further argued that Pius was anti-Semitic and that this stance prevented him from caring about the European Jews"

Can't say I approve of the note. I for one feel I should be able to advocate for the burning of individuals without feeling the need to toe the party line. Who's this "we"?

Bottom line as a Boards forum we don't endorse calls for people's death. My apologies to vibe666 if he was only calling for her to be maimed by fire.

    Moving on...
