The last thing I want to do is stir up can of worms, but I thought Conor Cleary really improved his game v Wexford, by comparison to the Cork performance.

For some reason I've always liked him, no club or family connection!, and I thought he looked very hyped up yesterday as if he thought he had something to prove.

your instincts are correct regarding Clleary
he is the best option for centre back in the clare squad.

lads who cant see what he does and Malone does, have a very thin understanding of what components make up a hurling team

I don't know if I'd say he's the best centre back but he's a very good player and would probably be an ideal player if there was a position between full and centre back, the problem is he can be exposed badly by players running at him, but every back can be.

Malone is a great grafter but can make some glaring mistakes, he's the Simon Easterby of the Clare team at the moment, the amount of unseen work he does is unbelievable. In a weird way he reminds me of Conor Clancy, by him doing all the work that he does it frees up 3 or 4 other players.

That Wexford team was beaten by about 20 points by Limerick in the AIQF. They were a much weaker team than Wexford 17/18

they also beat Waterford before getting annihilated

In fact no team that beat us in 12 14 15 and 16 reached the all Ireland final and in the first three the team that beat us were knocked out by a hammering

The real pity is that fitzgerald and his sweeper nonsense wasn't dumped in 2015 as it should have been

dont ever be afraid to post on here , whether you feel you are an expert or a novice you are entitled to say what you like , particularly if it involves hurling or football :pac:
last night we had a "school teacher" on his/her holidays with nothing to do but correct all of our posts for spelling errors

trust me we would always prefer to see people like yourself more often on here then smart arse's that seem to think they know it all

Thank you, I'm not sure how often I'd have something interesting to add; but after all the criticism in previous weeks of Cleary I was just wondering if I was being fair or rose tinted glasses in thinking he'd done very well

I love following the thread, it provides lots of insight into games when I tend to see them on basic level only. Can't wait for next game, although I'm under no illusions what'll be asked of them!

Centre backs, like full backs can be very badly exposed if cetnre field and the half-forward lines aren't defending when the don't have the ball. We have that problem to some extent and we hope to cause that problem for Galway.
Conor Cleary needs to change one thing with his game.. go forward with the ball, break into midfield and deliver short or long.. Don't go backwards except when there is no choice. Ram it up Galways nose.

All stand tickets sold out now, as if. Typical Tickets.ie bull****.

Is there a reason why it's doesn't even give the option for Cusack stand?

    ****e tickets for sale.

Go to tickets.ie. Both stands available but quality of tickets is rubbish. Sections at the end line only at the moment. Not really looking after the fans who want to buy early are they??

The "best" I can see are Hogan 327, but not much better than what's on offer on the Cusack which is 701 only it seems.

If the demand is high then there's a very good chance that the upper decks will be opened and these tickets will be released in a few days time.

Also, they would be keeping back a good number of decent tickets for the counties/clubs orders which are only going in Thursday.

I ended up getting the 301 seats, pretty rubbish but I needed Juvenile seats too.
I’ll see if I can get anything better from the Club Thur but aleast I’ve got some tickets.
    Wouldn’t go upper cusack anyway.

Guys isnt it great to be in an All Ireland semi. 2 steps from glory with a decent team. I must however dampen down the optimism a little. We are unfortunately a few players short of an All Ireland. Our squad is the weakest left in the competition aswell.
Two points on Cleary and Malone. Both are big hearted and honest and strong. However their weaknesses were not shown up by Wexford. Cork asked questions of their hurling ability which they could not answer. Their decision making, skill and striking are not of the standard required to win an All Ireland. They ll both be shown up again in the semi. I,d like to see Aaron Shanagher brought on as a sub in the semi. Iv not faith whatsoever in Conor McGrath regaining form and he is greedy on the ball.

At this stage a full allocation for both county boards would be held back, there's probably 10k put aside for each at this stage, once those have been sent out there'll be decent ones available. Personally I think it madness not buying your ticket from your local club at this stage, if we qualify for the final there won't be any tickets on public sale so you'll have to get them from the clubs.

Semifinal is a great opportunity to bring a large family group along. You can buy 8 tickets together. We have 2 adults and 5 kids coming for the Lim/Cork game and we got 7 in a row in 311. 115eur which is great value for a group of 7. You won’t get that from a club allocation. Just a pity they shove all the family allocations down towards the Davin end

Do local clubs sell juvenile tickets?
If we qualify for the final it's a free for all when demand in each club far outstrips supply. Buying a semi-final ticket from a local club in no way quarantees a ticket for a potential final.
By the way, some Clare people live outside the coutry/country, have no 'local' club, so have no choice but to buy online.

100% agree. Where possible, all kids with an interest should be brought to a semi-final. Terrific for them to experience a big, big match as it becomes impossible to bring them to a final due to demand/cost.

You can get that from a club allocation. These days clubs can specify exactly the split they want their family tickets to come in i.e. x number of 2 & 2, x number of 1 & 3 etc.

Also, family tickets could be got yesterday everywhere in the Cusack.
