because kilkenny is a naturally better place!!!

although it does seem to think we're in the travellodge in waterford, definately not a ggod sign.

no, seriously, it has loads of places written on the map, but when you search it usually sends you to scotland, the top end of aberdeenshire. wtf???

BTW, here are some translations for words used by Irish people to describe wintry weather.

    Irish description - translated:

    Sleet - rain
Sleet mixed with Snow - Sleet
    Light Snow - Sleet
    Heavy Snow - Sleet
    Blizzard - Light Snow
    Whiteout - Moderate Snow
Thundersnow OR 'Jaysus, Tis Bucketing' - Sleet, probably rain

I hope the easties get a Whiteout tonight:p

Hail on a fresh layer of powdery snow, just above Dun Laoghaire, south Dublin. Wind has picked up. Cityline (Dublin) has very clear lights. Nothing snowy looking, sadly.

a further push inland here for those eastern showers. Light precip for west clare and west kerry also.

Looks good on the NE to ENE winds. Night all. Safe driving in morn.

How old is the 3 hour rain chart? In my opinion it's already ancient history.
At this stage it's clearly obvious that all ppn will be south of Bray, in other words only Wicklow and Wexford.

Just to say, walking in a heavy wind with very soggy sleet coming in at an angle has to be the most annoying weather to be out in. I was out last night and it just puts you in the blues..

Doesn't look good for the buses in the morning. It's starting to look like New Year's Eve out there again.
