    Contractual reasons me hole!

Delighted to see GMAC playing for Ireland. Hope the lads can do what Harrington & McGinley did some years back.

There shouldn't be any world ranking points for limited field events.

Sure that would rule out a serious amount of tournaments, the guys did have to qualify you know through world rankings, limited field would include the fex ex playoffs as the Euro and ROW non-PGA can't qualify, some of the best golf has been in those tournaments as well as other "invitationals"

    Agreed for the most part

It would rule out Tigers tournament, that Turkish tournament, South African one that coincides with Tigers tournament. Fed-Ex cup is open to any golfer in the world once you qualify so it's not a limited field.

The World Cup of golf is open to the top ranked player in the country and whoever he picks so he could pick a guy ranked 400 and they win the event, think that's unfair!!

Sorry bad choice of phrase- should have said invitation events.

The 2013 Nedbank Challenge is now part of the 2014 European tour season as well. Handy Ryder cup points for the Elite European players. 30 man field, even last will get $100K :o, $1.25 million for the winner :(

Is there clear qualification criteria for this or is it part invitational, I mean someone like Padraig who is clearly not playing well can win this event and suddenly be bolted to the top of the Ryder Cup qualification process.

I see Shane has a new website - http://www.shanelowrygolf.com/ Must say - very refreshing not to see it plastered with endorsements and sponsorship deals. Nice to see such pride for his country.

Honestly the best website I've seen for any sportsperson or personality. What a cool guy.

    Well done Shano

Class website in fairness, Failte Ireland should sponsor him tbh, he is a great advertisement for the country!

Hopefully he gets a win under his belt before the year is out!

Yeah totally agree ssbob. He said on twitter that the Dunhill Links Challenge this weekend is one of his favourite weeks of the year so hopefully he does well.

-3 anyway so far, think that format would suit him on two accounts:
    • Links golf
    • Fun Golf with the am's there(hopefully that doesn't spill over though to the evening time)

Even though he hasn't collected any huge cheques this year he's been amazingly consistent. I think he's only missed 3 cuts on the European tour and none since March. He does need to properly contend more though.

Might suit Padraig to get locked though

Nice clean and friendly site alright. Couple of comments :

    - Didn't spot his girlfriend on there - thought he had one
    - Seems to play hurling left-handed and golf the opposite. Interesting - I'm trying to teach my son the same. Does Shane write left handed ?
