Looks like a bit of discontent between Shane and Bo after going in the water on 15. Shane certainly not happy and isn't blaming himself.

He was well short of the pin. Only other pitch í saw was Brian Harmon and he did the same.

Maybe he wanted to go for it in 2 and Bo talked him out of it.

After going 3,3 dunks it into water for a 7.

He gestured at the club he had used, so looked more like a club selection issue.

His mood very much depends on how he hit his last shot. Not that uncommon I suppose, but I never get the same 'waiting for him to explode' feeling with the other Irish lads.

I've seen him in action at a few Irish opens, he can get fair thick at times.

doesnt look like he has sorted his short iron issue for day 2 ,bogey from middle of fairway on 1st

Shane and Bo laughing away so no hard feeling from 15 yesterday.

There's a very good round ongoing here given the conditions

Nice to see Shane making a move - was all getting a bit boring.

Great to see him creep into contention almost unnoticed. He won't be afraid of anyone on that leaderboard.

What a short game he has, amazing touch

Great round for Shane, but a pity that birdie putt shaved the hole on the last.

Low round of day for Lowry. Great stuff

Holed a couple of difficult putts for par on 16 & 17 so overall good day

Hopefully tomorrow another good round sets him up for a chance on Sunday

St. Andrews is going to be made for him. Playing like a top-10 golfer since the NY.

He's showing great consistency alright which was the only thing stopping him becoming an elite player imo.

Except maybe Scheffler? He’s on quite a run at present and it’s hard to see him throwing away a 5 shot lead given how well he has been playing over the past couple of months.

Ya Scheffler making it look so easy and will be able to handle the pressure of winning as well,

I think Smith missed a lot of putts yesterday very unlike him but if he gets putting again he will be biggest challenger and maybe JT after a +4 in Rd 1 could put two more low 60s round’s together.

When I posted that, Scheffler was not -8 and 5 shots clear.

I was thinking it might have been good if Lowry was paired with Scheffler to get his competitive edge going but with the ridiculous amount of time Scheffler is taking over putts it's probably best he isn't. I reckon there'll be a 2+ hole gap opened up between Scheffler/Schwartzel and Lowry/Im by the end of the round

There must be a divorce with Bo on the cards. You can't be talking to your caddie like that even if you think he got the yardage way off in a major championship. The whole incident clearly rattled him and his par putt was pitiful. It will be very interesting to see how he plays and how they interact for the rest of the round.

What was actually said? I thought he just said ‘what a sh1t fcking shot’

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,558 ✭✭✭dublin49

looks like Bo getting blame for poor wedge on 13,compounded with bogey, tough conditions obviously fraying nerves but not looking good between the 2 of them.

Shane lowry looking really bad on a world stage there. Terrible look and bad form

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,891 ✭✭✭Xander10

    Lowry's head is gone.

Only Smith with an outside chance of catching the leader.

Nothing pretty much every other player doesn't do or say, it's only some words

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 895 ✭✭✭MattressRick

Normally wouldn't pick it up as clearly as that. Wouldn't mind the effing but did he say something about the yardage or distance miscalculation to Bo and then say Well done?

Yeah he said something like "30 **** yards out well done bo" then gave him multiple filthy looks. It's a bad look, uncalled for
