Know what you're saying, but I don't think a win does anything other than improve his chances in the majors to come.

I think he does. You can hear it in his voice the last few weeks, he's desperate for a win on tour and knows he's on a hot streak form wise too. I think he will be very disappointed if he can't get it done today. Hope he can get done, he was very unlucky losing out to Straka a few weeks ago and I think he deserves this one.

He never looks great over the 10-15 footers. Needs to sink everything inside this range, and to get a few breaks, to have a chance tonight.

G'wan Shane. Really looking forward to it. Hopefully every shot will be covered because he is in the final group. Varner seems like an easy going lad like Shane. Hopefully they click and light it up to keep sourpuss Cantlay at bay.

Well considering he shot 65 yesterday without holing a putt longer than 8 foot. I think he just has to play as well as yesterday and he'll win comfortably enough.

I don't think Shane is a great putter from 5-10 foot, but as someone posted before the pros are only about 50% from 8 feet and 70% from 6 feet and we expect them and probably ourselves to make them 100% of the time.

He's playing great, course really suits him, I imagine he's pretty much favourite going into today

He's streaky at putting and as he has said all through his career he will take the streaky runs and win big, he's playing well and confidence high after The Masters, he has belief

    Tee off time is 6.50pm.

Course playing friendly enough right now, there's a lot of players under par.

on balance a friendly course is in favour of the leaders as it stops a player from way back making huge ground but it also means a par round probably wont be enough today.

Not a great start by Shane. A few iffy shots

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,695 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Shane off to a bad start, bladed an iron and now a bad hook off the tee. He'll be too far behind soon.

Understand the negativity is required based on what's happened when I've said things like that. 😏

One birdie in the bag anyway, hopefully can reign in the leaders

Going now full steam now. Like he looked at leaderboard and said I’m out of this and relaxed and things happened

3 in a row, tied 1st after a van rooyen bogey

Great to see Lowry add consistency to his talent. Been written off by some “experts” on here over the years for not being professional and “fit looking”, but clearly he’s working hard on his game and is a model professional with attention to detail on aspects of the game that really matter. Hopefully he’ll win this and set himself up to have a go at the rest of the Majors this season. Gwan Shane

Keep forgetting he was top of the power rankings for this week, be great if he actually did the job too

That’s what they’re saying. After taking an iron off the tee.

Bunker on left on shot tracker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,040 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Could only pitch out. Seemed well short of the OOB, could see ball bounce too

    Come on Shane

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,871 ✭✭✭abff

Bunkered, not out of bounds. Decent approach shot gives him a chance of saving par.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,871 ✭✭✭abff

    Great par save!
