    1. Law In UCC, Corporate Law In Galway, Journalism in DCU, Marketing In Sligo IT. I'm embarrassed just listing them. I get a lot of abuse for my serial dropouts from my mates and if i go back in September, I'll get a ****load of action on how long i last.

    2. Cork - Cork is an amazing city, the people are really good fun and the social life was as good as anywhere I've experienced in Ireland. From reading Boards though it appears they are not that good at the internet. I was fairly studious at school and would also have been busy in the bookies or playing sports so I wouldn't have been a big drinker. This all changed when I got away from home. Basically just spent a year punting/drinking, the social aspect of UCC is absolutely superb. Dropped out as couldn't be bothered failing.

Galway - The course I liked best but came at a bad time. I was just starting to back seriously and was spending a lot of time studying form and compiling my own speed figures and handicapping. I also think mentally I wasn't in great shape here, as I had a relatively easy upbringing until I was 18, everything kinda fell into place for me, i found school easy, good family etc, and when I dropped out in Cork i was kinda depressed for a bit as it felt like I was no longer bulletproof. I think when you have a set plan which alot of students do leaving school, it's a shock when everything doesn't go to plan. Didn't go to many lectures, smoked a lot of weed, used to spend most of my time punting on Betfair and arbing the books around town which was ridiculously easy at the time.

DCU - Was really into poker at the time, and basically spent 12 hours a day grinding online. This was a really pathetic existence but I have a really obsessive personality when it comes to hobbies, and was just completed obsessed with learning and trying to improve. Lectures didn't really matter. Also thought DCU was pretty boring tbh but was probably due to the fact that i didn't really make an effort.

Sligo - Gave me something to do during the day when i wasn't potting or punting. Course was ridic easy, social life was great. Dropped out when had either crashed and burned or disappointed in bed any remaining females on my course.

    3. Worked in a pitch and putt club from the age of 13 or so. Was best job ever lol. Spent most of my time playing, or trying to hustle someone. We started cardgames in the clubhouse when it was too wet to play. It was pretty apparent from an early age that some of us were alot more degen than others. Pretty funny winning bikes stuff from your mates and then have their olds ring yours to get it back. Got into online gambling in Cork, and was soon potting away playing SNGs.

    4. Same as above really. Of the maybe eight or nine of us who hung out at the Pitch and Putt club I'd say eight are proper degens, and at least two will properly struggle to function in the real world as a result of their addiction. From about 15 or so started to take an interest in horse racing, just from hearing a few of the older lads talk about it. Started to buy racing papers cycling to work every morning during the summer. Kept it up during the winter and remember watching Istabraq win the 2000 champion and just being completely hooked. Used to get bets put on by older lads, and one of the independents in town would let us gamble at lunchtimes and on Saturdays. Opened online account with mothers CC when 17 after seeing ad in RP.

    5. Completely person dependent. I have massive respect for anyone who grinds out a living doing either. I don't want to have to do it anymore.

    6. Home And Away, It's just quality. I actually cannot miss it, the quicker RTE manage to make it possible to series link stuff will make my life so much easier. I'm so tilted if i miss the 1-25 show it's not even funny. When it goes off for a week or two, i don't know how to start my day.

    7. I didn't actually play that much, or chat too much with anyone there. Because I was playing loads online at the time, and hadn't really discovered Boards I wasn't that bothered about chatting with people too much, and in general poker players are pretty boring to hang out with. It's a pity as from memory I remember Phantom Lord and OPR played and judging by their posts on here I probably would have got on with and learned a lot from them.

Cheers, hope your brother is well. Always enjoyed reading his thoughts on various forums.

Are you really degenerate or how much attention do you pay to betsizing? Estimating edge in the special markets must be tough, so how do you get to it?

I'm getting better. I don't tilt as much as I used to which helps obviously. I've also finally got an idea in my head of what I want to do with life and using gambling as a way to achieve this has definitely somewhat curbed my degenerate side. I'm betting within a set bank at the moment, but I don't completely confine myself to risking a certain percentage. If I see a gift i'll take it.

Although I couldn't pull the trigger last week and only had 60% on Jamie to be eliminated pre sing-off. Was very tilted after, as should have had the lot but couldn't press submit. Maybe getting sensible in my old age. Estimating edges is difficult, but specials is a somewhat new market and I feel it's an area where price mistakes are more common than the somewhat more solved markets of premiership football for example where the weight on information available is just huge. Specials is also a lot about experience imo this is my 3rd X-Factor punting seriously and they do seem to follow a somewhat set pattern. For Jedward read Same Difference etc.

Does facial care help with your analysis?

Yes. My new Anthony Logisitics Clay Mask can do anything. It's amazing.

How seriously do you take modelling, or is that something that you don't do much of?

Honestly it's something I haven't looked into seriously and don't have a great experience with apart from a few threads in General Gambling, and a couple of articles I've read. I'm actually going to order a book now, anything you'd recommend?

What sort of mindset do you take while looking for bets? Looking at underrated/overrated, contrarian stuff?

I'm lucky in that I have some really sharp minds available to discuss and bounce ideas off. I would say 85% of my general betting comes from discussions and "analysis" with friends. I normally have a couple of systems on the go at a time too, which stems from my more analytical handicapping days when i worshipped Beyer and Brohamer. Specials as ghey it sounds is still very much "feel" at the moment as well as making the most of the excellent resources out there.

What team/person/horse do you think is the most underrated/overrated at the moment?

Under-rated - Rubin Kazan (Eastern European sides in general) / JEDWARD / Kauto Star or Special Duty

Over-rated - English Teams In Europe/ POD (Hello Yuletired) / Binocular

    Will Dunguib crush that hard?????

Very early days yet. Interesting times ahead. I'd enjoy National Hunt more than have a strong betting opinion on it, but love the banter like everyone else.

Shower - Umberto Giannini Shampoo , Umberto Giannini Conditioner, Molten Brown Eucalyptus & Ginger Body Scrub , Molten Brown Black Pepper Body Wash.

Facial - Dermologica Special Cleansing Gel, Dermologica Daily Microfoliant, Dermoligica Multi Active Toner, Dermologica Active Moist. Use Anthony Logisitics Cleansing Clay Mask twice a week. Biotherm Homme High Recharge if i feel rough.

Hair - American Crew Fiber, Tigi Bed Head Stick.

Five figures/ Five figures / Five Figures / Five figures

Most that you've ever lost in a day/week/month/year?

    See Above

    Baths or showers?

Showers if I'm running good, baths if I'm running bad.

Best sweat you ever had (betting)?

So many good ones. I mean at the heart of it thats why you punt.

Horse-wise George Washington's Guineas, Hurricane Run's Arc, An infamous 2/5 shot in a hunter chase at Down Royal, Laying Motivator In The Derby but still standing the lot again in the Eclipse.

Sports-wise the 2008 US Open is my fav. The whole tournament was magic, I mean just incredible. The dream threesome in the opening two rounds, Tiger's knee, Tiger's back-nine on the Saturday, the eagle on 13 after his LOL drive, taking as much as I could before the eagle putt on 18. Rocco. Westwood and Tiger on 13 on the Sunday. Watching the putt on 18 on Sunday with the most confidence I'd ever had of someone holing it.

They don't all win though. Losing ones are fun too. Mates dog was making it's debut at Romford in a maiden. Listening to Will Hill comms, myself and a mate on Betfair taking anything we could get laid at any price. Commentary is amazing, anyone who has ever listened to these knows how dull they are. This one just goes mental, saying there is a huge gamble in the ring, they taking all prices, never seen the like etc. They were taking odds at the end just for any amount. Dog gets chinned by a pup who was future ante-post fav for Derby and who never traps but led us up and we still nearly back-ran it.

AND RHYDIAN BEFORE THE STUPID SCOTTISH CLOWN ROBBING ME.

Do you remember your first teacher?

    Yeah.

What scares you the most and why?

Commitment, the stupidity of people and to quote Walter Abrams "this ****ed up need to feel something. To convince yourself you exist."

If u had to punch one? Henry or Hellmuth?

Henry, but being a Spurs fan I hated the smug, beautiful genius long before all these silly bandwagon jumpers.

Best advice anyone ever gave u?

Women, like everyone sometimes get ahead of themselves, I mean Titi Camara once said he was a better footballer than Thierry Henry. And "It's always red"

    Beer or sprits?

I can't drink at all. I'm an embarrassingly cheap date.

    Your bad beat story?

None. They are insanely boring and people who tell them should be shot in the face. Repeatedly.

Betfair or Betdaq? (If Betfair does the 20% effect you)

Both, predominantly Betfair for the specials liquidity.

    Do you green up?

Yes, probably not as much as I should. A lot more recently, I've started to really appreciate the sexiness of an all green screen.

What sports do you specialise in?

I wouldn't say I specialise in any. I'm lucky in that I have guys that i regularly chat with who are in the top 5% of punters in a number of sports from european group racing to LOI football. According to my P&L specials, rugby, and football are my top earners. I would say I'm more knowledgeable about horse-racing and specials. And for sheer enjoyment nothing beats backing a dog but I'm a massive lifetime loser.

Any value in betting on the premiership?

In sheer betting terms, probably none for the average punter. Obviously it's going to be profitable in a number of areas.

Ireland's greatest ever sportsperson (1 only).

    Shane Kelly, seriously Aidan O'Brien

    Favorite sportsperson's autobiography?

Not a huge autobiography fan, biographies are much more interesting. Probably John Daly's.

    A funny betting story?

One of my mates is a real degen. Like busto 11/12 months. You couldn't trust him with anything, it's sad obviously but is pretty funny at times. When we were about 19 ee had been drinking one of the rugby weekends when we got word for a horse in an Irish bumper. The word from this source was golden at the time, so we wanted to back it but didn't want to miss the end of the game. Our mate obviously got landed with the task of backing it for us, as he was busto at the time and we were subbing him beer/dinner etc. He ended up with about 750 on the 11/2. He goes down to back it and horse bolts going to post and runs about a mile apparently. Mate thinking of a fast one, doesn't bother putting it on. Horse obviously wins. Now he's in big trouble as it's the bumper so he doesn't even have anything to get out on. There's a 2/1 fav in the last at some dog track, so he doubles this with the 5/2 outsider in the Spanish football game that night. Dog wins and it's all on the footie game. Mate comes back to us and told us that the local independent didn't have the readies and offered him a cheque and that we could collect the next afternoon. This happened occasionally so we didn't really think too much of it, until one of the boys asked for the slip to mind it. Mate quick as a flash pulls out a slip that he's written up and put a false initials on it at the price like the cashier used to do. It was one of the old independents and was just a pencil/stamp job. Other mate obviously doesn't notice no stamp so just pockets it and we think nothing of it. Went for dinner about eightish and degen mate keeps ducking out every ten minutes into the bar next door. Before dessert says he needs some fresh air, and that he was gonna go for a walk and would meet us in the bar after. Again we think nothing of it, as gambling addicts are always pretty strange lol, and we just presumed he'd done the loot again. Anyway meal finished we fall into the pub next door. Mate is in a corner at the back staring at tiny screen watching this Villarreal game, bout fifteen minutes to go and it's 1-1. He always backs fav so we joking about how he must be on the fav and anytime they go close we ooohing and aaahing and just generally winding him up. He's really quiet whole time and can't take his eyes off screen. Bout four minutes left and the away side break and their striker clean through slots it home. Mate jumps up on table starts manic fist-pumping and is like high-fiving. We're in fits of laughter as it just looks hilarious. Most of the pub is looking at him. Anyway score stays the same, and it's only then that he tells us the full story. Was pretty funny at the time, but slightly sad too. F*ck knows what he was gonna do if it didn't come in. It's probably the own time in his life he's benefitted from a late winner too as he is the king of conceding late accumulator busters.

Thanks for taking the time GL.

I'd imagine you've seen most of them but my five all-time favs are probably Good Will Hunting, Wall Street, American Psycho, Millers Crossing, and then something by Tarantino. Recently I've seen The Vistor and Gigantic and enjoyed them both. I'm dating a performing arts student at the moment, so have been working my way through the EDF thread on obscure movies to make myself seem cooler. However after a few viewings I'm pretty sure she would be more impressed by High School Musical rather than Breaking The Waves.

5 albums I should listen to before I die ?

This is too hard so just going to pick my five most listened too on iTunes. Frightened Rabbit - Midnight Organ Flight, Bon Iver -For Emma, Forever Ago, The Sleepy Jackson - Lovers, The Strokes - Is This It, Bright Eyes - Letting Off The Happiness, Jason Anderson - Tonight.

Recent stuff i like that you should check out is Lovers Turn To Monsters, Cosmo Jarvis, Volcano Choir, Girls, and JEDWARD.

Favourite place in the world that you have visited ? (A little about why)

I much prefer cities than anything else. It's not very original but I love Barcelona. Just vibrant, cool, fun to explore, and it's one of the only places where my favourite things to do don't involve gambling.

If you could have dinner with any person, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. With whom would it be and why ?

Gordon Gekko. So i could try and talk him into giving me a job.

You have been given the opportunity to create an hour long TV show pilot of your own design. What is it called and what's the premise ? (Only ask cause I have had lengthy pub conversations with various random people about this but if nothing comes to mind just skip)

Great question. No clue at the moment, but I'm definitely going to use this as a conversation topic soon.

Why is Blackjack so much more fun compared to poker ?

Any social gambling games are just great. Gambling is much more fun with other people.

The best chinese food, in Dublin anyway, is all in the worst areas. Try the Jazz above the Spar in Coolock Village, or the takeaway on Shangan Rd in Ballymun, round the back of the flats, past the travelodge.

Plenty of "colourful" local characters, but the food is top notch.

Jack is alive, and Hugo's not people smuggling he's just visiting Jack who had to leave through fear of his life for what he had uncovered and is living on an Asian island. I don't try to second guess such genius storytellers but I fancy this one for sure. We haven't had a resurrection from the dead for a while.

Chloe all-time fav female cast memeber. Donald Fisher all-time favourite male. Although if this Detective Robert Robertson keeps banging Leah and hangs around it will soon become him. He is the most exciting thing to happen to Summer Bay since The Diner opened. It's like Tarantino writes his dialogue but no one else's.

You've thrown out some great analysis of betting on social events (e.g. XFactor) in the BBV. What type of research do you do for these types of bets?

I keep records. I real Digital Spy, Betfair specials forum, and a couple of other x-factor forums religiously. I've always had a good filter when it came to reading forums, and there are a couple of guys who i listen to/msn with alot about it. I pay special attention to the twitter/facebook stats and i talk about x-factor/Big brother alot when it's on to different demographics. It's something everyone has an opinion on. Past history is also very important. There's no magic system, look at what Cowell says and does, think about what stupid people would like, and price accordingly.

Who do you think is more annoying in Home and Away, Rachel or Jai?

Rachel. AINEC. I mean traditionally Summer Bay residents are 300% more unlucky than normal people but poor Tony Holden just never catches a break. Dead wife, dead son, other son leaves, family falls apart, gets stuck with Rachel who nearly kills his baby. Just really unlucky. Now she's gone back to work without talking it through with him. B*tch.

I don't mind Jai that much. He's a slightly annoying emo who needs to get over Annie (who btw I'd like to see beaten to death). Plus it's hard to hate someone who has such fantastic hair.

Love Asian food, but good Chinese's are practically impossible to find in this country so try to avoid them. Probably just a dry chow mein and beef with black bean sauce as surely they are the easiest not to f*ck up.

true..i've found the further east you go in europe the better it gets..so i can only imagine how good it would taste in asia.. though it is quite diff than what we get here

+1.. there is this place that looks like a run down $hithole and i've avoided it until one night it was the only place open at 1am close by.. the delivery guy waiting at the counter tried to sell me this huge tropical fish in a tank in the back cause they were gettin too big.. i have never gone to anywhere else since.. quality place

    Thanks for this.

Most you have ever won on a single bet?

Probably like 11 or so on a single.

Most you stood to win (but didn't) on a single bet?

Have had a couple of six-figure greens look semi - interesting at times in golf, but never really a massive sweat as I just trade anyway. Don't really do accums so don't have that one-team let me down to a last minute equaliser story. Its just not how i bet.

Best horse you have seen (flat and NH)?

Would have been fun debate before this year but STS obviously. Personal favs include George Washington, Yeats, Johannesburg, Dalakhani, Montjeu, Six Perfections, Ghostzapper, and Hawk Wing.

Istabraq. Favs include Beef Or Salmon, Rhinestone Cowboy, Kauto Star, Harchibald, and Ned Kelly.

Horse with most potential who never realised it (through injury or otherwise)?

Hawk Wing should have been one of the all-time greats.

What is the essential tool kit you use when studying form?

I've always looked at races from a US-influenced pace analysis POV. But discussion is most important for me.

    Good luck.

    Cheers
