I read before that a chip would have to be in direct sunlight for days upon end to suffer any data corruption.

Good to know. I thought it would be a bit quicker than that.

Although the older boards get, the longer the possibility they could have been in direct sunlight. Even if it's only an hour at a time, over 10-15 years that has to build up - that's if it works that way of course! I haven't a clue.

I'll be slapping stickers on any exposed windows I see just to be safe.

Had a good morning in Balbriggan this morning.
Picked up Rayman 3, Turok Evolution, Donald Duck PK as well as Mario Party 4 & 6 for the Gamecube and all for a tenner!
Then, as I was heading out I spotted some N64 games in a bag and got the lot for another tenner!
    I got the following,
    SM64
    Wwf No Mercy
    Worms Armageddon
    FZero X
    Super Smash Bros
    Zelda OoT gold cart
    Banjo Tooie
    South Park
    ISS64
    World Cup 98
    Wcw Nwo Revenge
    Goldeneye
    Perfect Dark
    007 World is not enough
    Road Rash 64!
    Not bad for a tenner!
    Off to adverts now!

Was just outbid on some Akira cels I really wanted. I even got up early on a Sunday to snipe. Damn you bidder I***I(30). You're lucky you name was hidden or I'd have hunted you down and removed your face with a fork.

Usually when this happens, I end up buying something really extravagant which I clearly cannot afford, just to temporarily alleviate the pain. Not too sure yet what that will be...

Hate that, I'm bidding on a few cells myself.
Just cells, not framed or anything.

Oh yeah? Painted animation cels or those film stock ones?

These are the ones I was after. It was a sequence of three from where Kaneda is using the jukebox at the very start of the film.

The plan was to keep one for myself, and then sell the other two to some crazy Akira cel collectors I deal with in the states. My highest bid was £125. Should have gone higher. All well! Nothing I can do now.

Just some film stock ones. Not as nice as those painted cells.

Secrets of Evermore(PAL SNES), fully boxed with map, manual et al. 5e.

Boxed Legend of Zelda: Windwaker Limited Edition, with Ocarina and Master Quest. 2e.

I've never been this lucky in any other pursuit in life, so I've got a feeling there's some karmic balancing act impending, with all my consoles spontaneously combusting or somesuch.

Picked up a few bits over the last month or so.

    1. Playstation 2 games.
I mentioned these before but here's a picture. They were €1 each in a charity shop so €16 for the lot. Not a bad haul.

    2. Gameboy Advance
Picked this up from Adverts with Mario World and Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 for €15 I think it was.
    GameboyAdvance.jpg

    3. Final Fantasy XIV
I actually have no intention of playing this. I saw it in a bargain bin when I was getting Christmas presents today and thought I might as well have it for the collection. When I got home I realised that Final Fantasy XI was online also and that I am unlikely to find a copy of that anymore... damn.

    4. Game Gear
I found this in the attic a while back. I only have Lemmings for it though but should have a few more games somewhere...
    GameGear.jpg

    5. Sony Xperia Play
Lets just saw I won't be hunting SNES games that much for the moment...

Good oul black, what a classic FPS. I'm due a game of it again soon,
one of the most stunning looking and sounding shooting games on the PS2.

I actually didn't enjoy black that much. It's about 3 hours long and really there's no depth to it at all. I know that's the point but really it's been done better. It's a great technical achievement but nothing else stands out.

I am so jealous of your luck with evermore there. Where'd you get it for so cheap?!

Haha, I certainly spent a lot more than 3 hours getting to the last level, more like 3 weeks.
I always play FPS games on the hardest level, and try to savour them, get all the intel and all that.
I still can't comprehend how people would finish the game in 3 hours! Maybe I just suck? ;)
I do tend to go all Rambo to give myself a harder challenge though!

It used an award winning sound engine, it even makes the latest call of duty titles sound like you're shooting BB guns.
I just found it really immersive. The A.I wasn't the greatest, but there was **** loads of action, and battles to get through.

Just came across "Bleemcast" for the first time, never knew it existed,
    it's a pretty amazing accomplishment!
