Spine Card/Obi Strip. I've not seen a copy of the book with one. I never even knew it shipped with one. Great to see each page has notes on the works in Japanese and English. Seems as though Toren Smith had a hand in the translation of Kodansha. Can't be bad. :)

I finally located an original Sanyo portable telly remote control that is compatible with my little set there last week, so its been onto the the AV channel for me with my Saturn and Neo Geo! Great to play these systems on a small CRT screen as they look very very sharp and colourful. It just wasn't the same playing them on a 32" widescreen CRT (in 4:3 natch) or *urgh* on a HDTV.

I have had a great time playing all the usual Neo favourites then. The drab looking KoF 2002 actually comes into its own on the small screen, which was surprising. Its never ever going to be a beautiful looking title, but it certainly looks more colourful and vibrant on the portable.

I also got King of Fighters XIII with the 4 disc (!) CD sound track during the week. I had ordered it before launch but for whatever reason it got a bit lost on the way here. Delighted when it finally showed up - was getting a little worried about its whereabouts. A lot of SNK love going on in my gaff then this week :D

I have bought nothing else lately. I don't know what it is, but I tend to buy hardly any games in the run up to Christmas in recent years - last year the only game I got from the end of September until Christmas day was the wonderful Shienryu on the Sega Saturn. I suppose I have been busy with my studies and I have been busy buying Christmas gifts, but probably the main reason is I've been enjoying all the **** I've been buying over the years - no harm!

Haha! I only did the exact same thing recently but with a Grundig portable that I will be using for my C64, when the cart arrives!

Got the compatible remote from a Polish seller on ebay for about a fiver delivered.

The Portable doesn't seem to receive the c64's S-Video signal through the SCART though. :(

So I'm forced to use the RF cable for now, (the remote wasn't wasted as I had to tune it in).

I'm not sure whether it's the crappy Portable that isn't compatible with S-video through Scart,
or if the 3 RCA to Scart Adapter is missing the pins required. (although it does seem to have them).

Must test it out on the trinitron later, it works fine plugged into the Trinitron's composite sockets alright.

Got Pullblox for the 3DS and it is wonderful!
I'd have spent €40 on this in the shops, never mind the mere €6 I spent in the 3DS market.
    Brilliant stuff.
Finally the 3DS has reasons to be cheerful.
Next up, Metal Gear Solid 3d

Have vectorman, a us snes controller and toy story on the genesis en route. Also picked up la noire which I can't decide whether I like or not. That'll be all my game purchases for this month though as well I've managed to spend over €1200 in 2 weeks on nothing special =/ NO REGRETS!

About four years ago, a friend of mine took out a loan of 10K for absolutely nothing specific.

He got stuck in Germany on his own and spent most of it in a fancy hotel room on steaks, booze and illegal substances.

Still paying off the loan to this day!

Few LaserDiscs that arrived this morning.
    New and sealed.

There not particularly rare or anything but I got them for a great price so cant complain. Normal CD beside them for size comparison.

I also got the power cable for the new chassis I have for my arcade monitor.
So I'll be installing that later I think.

I'm looking for a decent storage box for my Laserdisc collection. Any ideas where to get one from? What do you use for yours? A DJ flight case for vinyl?

    That's exactly what I use.
I have a few full boxes back home and must get another one or two for up here in Dublin.

Maplins have them, although they are rip off prices.

    A warning to all though.
LaserDisc collecting can be a dangerous thing. I bought my first LaserDisc as a present to my brother who is a mad Jurassic Park fan.
Liked the look of them so much I started to get one or two here and there. Then a few limited edition ones.
Before long you end up with a load of them and they do take up a bit of space.

And I still haven't bought a LaserDisc player yet :D

a friend has a clatter of laser disks for a Kareoke machine she used to bring to parties sometimes and there just seemed to be something preposterous about them. They are like CDs and and players from the land of the giants!
