Anyone here watch Channel 4 really late at night years ago? (maybe about 10-15 years?) Was a real eye opener for a teenager, I'll tell you that :pac:

There was this awful british/spanish soap opera and, I sh1t you not, I'd rather watch a documentary on stoma care again than watch it....

Sounds like Eldorado, the mighty BBC flop of the early/mid 90's. I'll always remember that show for that fella's classless ponytail.

I doubt it was Keith Baron in Duty Free as that was a sitcom, and it was brilliant!

Usually you'd end up with utter dross like Renegade, Legwork (despite it's awesome theme music it sucked bum), re-runs of The Chart Show (which ALWAYS used to FFWD through the videos you wanted to watch when they did the top 10's) and other bunk and drivel like re-runs of Vanessa, Kilroy and Countryfile.

The only decent show was that dating show with that absolutely cracking bit of 'hows yer father' on the telly, Jayne Sharp. PHWOOOARR!!! :o

Yes. I remember watching this episode of The Word when it first aired and loved the fight at the end!

First time I'd ever seen RATM. :)

Used to watch the worst rubbish on telly just to past the time...
Everything changed when I realised I could pop my MD into the bag and hook her up when all the work was done.
I spent much of my time on my own in those days, on nights and, once everyone was tucked into bed and the various other things sorted, I could settle down and play some games!
I never got out of this habit, I only finished having to nights a couple of years ago and was still bringing in my console of the time with me, always seemed to be on nights for a console launch, which meant I could get stuck into it, so Halo, Fantavision, WiiSports, Virtua Fighter 3... sounds like a Retr0 nightmare!

So rather than just sneak in a handheld like most people on night shifts, you were actually able to hook a console up to a tv? Nice one! Talk about a great way of fitting more gaming into your life.

    Indeed :(

Only ever happened to me once before. Fatal Fury 2 PAL version for the Megadrive. Australia only game. Super duper rare. (I've only ever come across two on ebay in years of searching..that one and a buy it now one which is in bits)

    I fell aleep.

Auction ended at something stupid like €30!

Not gaming but I got these today. I actually made a bit of a mistake though, or a coup, depending on which way you look at it.

See that odd-looking Chinese Laserdisc? It was actually listed for €1.20 by the seller as 'Chinese Laserdisc'.

I had no idea what it was but the cover art looked interesting but I couldn't make out any of the text. A sucker for the curios I bought it. Turns out I had just bought a Chinese Laserdisc of Faces of Death IV!

Not really my cup of tea, although I have seen them before. But it has to be said, the cover art gives absolutely ZERO impression it's a Faces Of Death nasty. I won't watch it as I don't like mondo movies apart from Africa Addio which is brutal but very eye opening to say the least.

The plus side is, this particular disc is rarer than a blue steak, so I'll flip it and make a few bob on it instead one day. :)

EDIT: Oh, and all the discs are widescreen and juicy editions apart from The Commitments (I think) as it has no markings denoting the AR.
