It's Megan is Missing Not a great film by any stretch of the imagination but the ending was interesting if heavy handed

I lost so much respect for that film when it became clear that it wasn't a true story. Raises questions about the director!

From what I recall it was sold as a fictional account of true events. What questions does it raise about the director? Pretty much every film based on a true story has some level of fiction to it to make events more interesting and easier to tell.

It wasn't a single story, it was a patchwork based on 6 or 7 cases. I just thought if it what was portrayed didn't actually happen, the director went overboard on the shock value and painted teenage girls in a rather derogatory light with the behaviour of the main character.

It's a film, it's not supposed to be taken as anything more than entertainment. To say the portrayal of one female character can be seen as a negative depiction of all teens is akin to saying that Darth Vader is a negative and derogatory depiction of all burn victims.

Not quite sure that's the vibe I got from it, felt more like scaremongering to me. Fair enough on the character depiction though.

What is the name of this film, I remember watching it on channel 4 on a sunday night about 10 years ago, basically its about this guy who performs a satanic suicide ritual whilst listening to black/death metal music, it then cuts to an hilariously bad CG animation of hell! And then he manages to possesses some other character or makes his way back to the living world somehow.

Looking for just a scene from a movie as I thought it was hilarious, any it was awhile ago when I seen it,its set in Ireland I think during the famine or near that time, the scene in question is a load of beer barrells wash up on shore and people run to the shore and start going crazy drinking it from where ever they can,I think I remember one lad drinking it from his shoe.

    The movie is in colour.

Any one have a clue what the name of this movie is?

Was baling silage, 3 years ago in a field overlooking the Atlantic in West Cork one Saturday afternoon when a car drove into a field with two people (early 20s) emerged in Orange Hi-Vis Jackets walked over holding walkie talkies.

He walked up and told me that a German film company were filming a picnic scene on a field above where I was and the noise from my tractor was interferring and I asked if I would stop working during the filming. I agreed and the hi vis guy hopped into the tractor and told me the crew were German making a film about a German family moving to rural Ireland to get away from everything, it was set in modern times but the Irish characters (who spoke fluent German) were protrayed as backward farmers stuck in the 50s.

Just wondering has anyone seen this film or know of its existance.

Plot-wise and German wise it adds up but its dated 2007 and the date I was speaking about was in the summer of 2009 as I distinctly remember chatting with the crew guy about how crap Transformers 2 was. Unless they made a sequel...

This movie would have been from the mid-1970’s and the it was in 3-D, which might help narrow it down. I am pretty sure it would be considered sci-fi.

Scene (1) earliest scene in the movie I can remember
It is nighttime and there is some sort of a bar scene – irrelevant but I remember it – and there is a man on a pay phone in the parking lot. The man looks through the booth glass and sees a small UFO high up in the night sky; the quintessential white oval type.

Scene (2) most vivid memory and most visually graphic
There is a chair in the movie that is prominent and used in more than one scene. The chair is in some kind of a cave or something and is quasi-futuristic, like the furniture from the bar in A Clockwork Orange. The chair has lots of wires or tubes (tubes I think) and they inject whoever sits in the chair with chemicals or electricity. The person in the chair then hallucinates, monster faces (maybe alien faces) and stuff like that. This was a major part of the 3-D experience and the faces were flying out towards the audience (I remember being scared).

Scene (3) final scene, I think
I think there are two main people in the movie (man and woman) and in the last scene they are being chased by people on jeeps – military-looking people I think. They are running along dirt roads, like in the mountains, and they hit an invisible wall like the wall in Time Bandits. They have coffee cans or other found items and they are frantically digging trying to find away under the invisible wall. I seem to remember at that point the jeep pulls up behind them and they realize that they are caught.

I wish I could give you more than that, but that is all I remember.

    thanks!

Hmm, have a vague memory of that as being an advert! The story is similar to whiskey galore from the fifties where an island of Scotlanders run out of whiskey and a ship sinks off their island. I do have that image in more recent times for an advert though I can't remember what it was for! Sorry

    Hi,
Saw a film possibly about ten years ago on utv late one sat night. It was about two guys who switched schools. One guy was a nerdy white guy in a well to do school and the other was a black lad in a rough school. When they switched the nerdy guy was locked into a locker. There was a quote in the film where the nerdy guy takes the black guys gold tooth and sticks it into his mouth and says "fits like a charm" (in a strange voice cuz it didn't fit!). There was also a scene in a science lab. Probably an 80's film.

I know there is no info there at all! But it's just a film from my youth I wouldn't mind seeing again! Maybe i'm better off remembering it as a good film without seeing it again! IT reminded me of trading places a bit! Anyway if anybody can recall the film from the above info u deserve some kind of medal! I don't think it's the type of film that would be winning any oscars or anything!

    Here's one:

    It is an American film.

    Probably from 1970s - 1980s.

It is about a revolt in a prison. The prisoners take over part
of the prison, later the uprising is crushed by the authorities.
Many prisoners are shot without justification.

The little bit I remember is that there are a couple of prisoners
hiding in a store room kind of place. One of the prisoners is
a kind of nerd and is wearing glasses. When the guards come
to check the room, they shoot all the guys, and the guy with
the glasses is shot through the glasses in his eye.

    Any ideas?

Ok once again my head's wrecked with a movie I can think of, it used to be a childhood fave... here's the info I can remember:

    - Very old movie, from the 70's maybe or just a cheap 80's film
    - Grave stones come out of the ground, especially the front garden
    - Tiles in the kitchen break and stuff comes up out of the ground
    - Somethings in the bed room and theres all this wind and goo (yes goo) and possibly the child is raised up, maybe pinned against the wall
    - its definatly a paranormal movie, about ghosts or demons

Thats it, hope ye can help, I'd like to watch it again :D

Edit: Oh and even though its on my rewatch list, I don't think its poltergeist!

A Spanish movie. A woman flees from her violent husband (he looks a bit like guy from Bloody Sunday movie - James Nesbitt). Anyone know the title? I remember seeing it around 2003/04/05 in the cinema.

Mitch Hedberg: "Rice is great if you're really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something."

    maybe one of these

Six against the rock - more about the guards being taken hostage but I seem to remember there is a scene where a cell filled with people is machine-gunned.

Can not remember too much about this other than it being about the riots.
