Sorry, apologies, it's actually Runkeeper that I have been using, not Runstar! All of the running apps have gps tracking in them and will tell you how far you have travelled so I don't see why they wouldn't track you going around a football pitch.

This app looks pretty cool, and is from an Irish developer http://www.appbrain.com/app/interrupt-7-day-trial/spol.Interrupt_trial

haven't given it a shot to see if it works as advertised but the concept is a sound one.

Had this app for a while it comes in handy the odd time for suggesting new apps that I would not have normally found myself

full game. Make sure you have wifi if you get it. There's a fairly big download once the game is installed. Good game. Playing it the last hour and an hour or two last night.

Yup they have added in-app payments so they made the full base game available for free now :)

Cant wait to try it on my Xoom next week :p

Star Trek Tricorder! (That really works, is free and No ads!)

Love this app, it uses your phones built in sensors in a very cool interface.

Wish we have a real Starr Trek interface that worked like this for the whole of Andriod.

Google Listen is really pissing me off lately! Any other good podcast apps out there?

I find BeyondPod to be the best. The pro version is worth it too. Nothing like waking up in the morning and having your podcast pre-downloaded for you.

You can use cabbage for android and that uses your free internet network texts. Whatsapp is free aswell but recipient needs to have it aswell. Viber is also coming out soon for android.

I tried beyondpod and listen and neither of them were great.
I had come from Podtrapper on a blackberry and after a bit of frustration with those two I discovered that podtrapper is available for the android.
The graphics aren't great but its very easy to add podcasts and you can set it to download on wifi only. I think its great. I use it very regularly.

Edit: I think it cost about $6-7 but the developer let me transfer my license from blackberry to android.

I did search honest.. surprised this hasn't got a mention yet. Having said that, people probably assume that ScummVM runs on everything.. ;)

Play the likes of The Curse of Monkey Island, Beneath a Steel Sky etc..

    http://www.scummvm.org/

ScummVM is quite mature and stable for Android. Installs to SD card.

    scummvm-1.2.1-android.apk - 5.59MB

    http://www.scummvm.org/downloads/

There are free (..and legal) games at the site for you to try out:

    Beneath a Steel Sky
    Flight of the Amazon Queen
    Lure of the Temptress
    Drascula: The Vampire Strikes Back

You'll need extra plugins for some games from the Android Market.

I just bought Assassin's Creed Altairs Chronicles. Bought it from here only €2. Only just played a few minutes now but looks like a great game.

Got that for the ipod touch a while ago. It's alright. Got mine on sale though for 79c. Dont think I'd buy it as well for android too though.

Saw that yesterday. It is a little bit like Swipe Pad. Both are interesting but not something I would use day to day.

guys just to let you know that go sms pro is now free its a great texting application with a cool layout, if you download it make sure to go in to the appearance settings as there are some very cool transition effects

This also stops the samsung galaxy s from turning long texts into multimedia
