Here are the plans for how they will be laid out:

That picture is out of date. The diagonal paths in front of the Campanile are out, replaced with a straight path between the Public Theatre and Chapel.

Heard the Pav has been absolutely ripped apart and won't be ready for the beginning of term, anyone confirm/correct that?

I'm glad they're doing this. The place is a bloody nightmare to get through. I went flat on my face when I was in there once. Also, I almost got thrown out of my chair when I was attempting to negotiate the patch of cobbles at the front gate. They're bloody lethal. I steer clear of Temple Bar for the exact same reason.

I'm glad to see someone who's actually affected by this in the debate :)

Well the there has already been plenty of input from people affected by the paths. Namely people whose staunch conservatism exceeds decency when they suggest that minorities should suffer to preserve the appearance (don't start me on tradition-ophiles) of the front square, when in fact it seems to me quite unlikely that a few paths could ruin the aesthetic which imo is due to the architecture and greenery and not the bloody pavings.

So yeah, I guess I'm also glad to hear reasonable input from someone who's actually affected.

wtf are they doing? Saw some guy out power-hosing the cobbles to remove all the grit in-between them. I'm guessing they'll all have to be re-laid???
