Any thoughts on this one greatly appreciated - I have listened back to it so many times when cutting that video together that i feel like i never want to hear it ever again!

Quality is great. Like the the real bassline. There's a great sound from that electronic drum kit.
Overall I think there is an element missing though. Perhaps a vocal or another synth layer. Kudos on putting a video together as well :)

Ah yes, this is excellent. Love the spacey vibe from the reverb. Good progression on the arrangement. A real loungey track. The only negative I have is that I think you should lower the volume of the two deep bass notes.
They tend to 'jar' a bit. Maybe even reduce the attack of the notes just to soften it a bit. Other than that though I love it. Foot tapping, head nodding goodness!

Cheers man, I was thinking the same about the bass line but is it the whole way through or would you from 1.33 onwards?

Not my bag style wise but is sounds good. I woudn't be made on the electronic snare snound but the bassy synth line is cool.
Actually I'm listening a second time here after an intial listen yesterday and I must admit it's growing on me a bit. Nice big dub-step style dop a 1.36. I think the hi hats could do with a bit more presence in the mix though.

Thanks for the feedback, hopefully get to have another look at this over the next few days and see if I can bring out the high hats a bit more, they are lacking a bit

Great use of the didgeridoo sample and you have fitted the vocals in well.
I'm not sure if it's just YouTube or what but the drums sound very muddy. The big kick has no real definition.

Nice groove in the percussion and the high synth works well.
The bassline isn't quite right though to me ear. I can't exactly put my finger on it but it feels like it's not quiet sittting in the mix prominently enough. I'm not sure if it's just a volume level or more on a comression factor but it needs a bit more punch. But yeah, great stuff overall.

Nice take on a hip-hop number. I like the chord progression of the pad/synth and the long tail on the kick. The noise might be a bit overdone IMO.

I find it hard to offer comments on remixes when I don't know the original. I had a quick listen to some of your tracks. The IIO vs Porn Kings one brings back memories :)
I think the main thing for me is that there seems to be a lack of bite to the some of the sounds used. Like the kick in 'In and Out' is a bit watery if you know what I mean. Have you any compression on it?

Can't beat the old tunes :D

Thanks for the comments, only starting out, bit of a hobby and something to pass the time.

Hear what you mean with the "kick", I will have to play round more with it, seems I lost a bit of the sound quality too converting to MP3, will have to also take a look at the settings in the Audacity software I'm using.
For now though I'm happy enough with what I've done seeing as this is all new to me, just trying to get to grips with the decks and Traktor Pro. Thanks again for the feedback :)

You're using Audacity? Well that explains a lot. You might want to try out Reaper if you want to get into production in a more serious way. It's free (or at least extremely reasonable). You could also download a demo of the more commercial DAWs like FL Studio or Ableton

I don't generally like hip-hop (assuming that's the genre) but this is class. I checked out the original on Youtube and this is by far a better version - love the bass in it. Quality stuff dude!

I see what you mean about Reaper, absolute world of difference, thanks for the recommendation :)

This is the first track I've done in about 7 months, had an infuriating case of writers block :) Still needs a few tweaks here and there but I'm quite happy with it as is. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Great groove. Solid kick and bassline.
The splash (0.15) isn't hectic though. I think the clap is bit too prominent and detracts from the kick a bit. I like the sequence that comes in a 1.01 and the shakers. Nice flute pad in the second half of the track.

Pretty sweet. Nice percussion throughout and good use of a short vocal sample
The main synth stabs are a little too sawtoothy for me, if ya get my drift. The little bassline that plays beofore them has a really good tone and could be expanded into a real funky groove for the track.
From 1.50 on the track is really kickin' :)

Cheers man. I think I get what ya mean by too sawtoothy, but yeah that's just what I liked when messing about with the synth and thought I'd stick with it for this track. I've almost finished the track now and it kind of progresses more with more synths layered on top, I get what ya mean about the tone of that bassline before the synth stabs, but It sits nicely when the track progresses more :)

Love the synth in the intro. I also think the clap is too loud and to my ears the bass isn't loud or punchy enough. I think the tune overall could do with more low end as you have a really good bass line in there. Having said that, the percussion sound is excellent and the rest of the drum sounds are really good. It's a very catchy tune.

Not much to say about this one other than it's really good! Nicely produced and really catchy. Like the brief change around 2:10 too - really good stuff.
