if the horse runs the 1k win bet at 8/1 and then layed off at now @5.2 befair brings in gurantted £650...that is calauclted equal profit win / or lose

obviouslt if i played around with the lay stake could adjust the win/loss either side... but i prefer to go with mid point assured of getting a return on investment

ive put £1700 ish up to lay at betfair @5.2

A Little Different should be suited by fast ground

    A Little Different
    5.30 Tipperary
    1pt win at 8-1 generally

The racing on offer, with the obvious exception of Longchamp, is not of the greatest quality today and the star of the show at Tipperary is clearly the Cheltenham Festival winner Go Native, writes Tom Segal.

    RELATED LINKS

With the Noel Meade yard going well he has to go close but a better bet comes in the handicap hurdle a bit later in the shape of A Little Different. This horse needs fast ground to show his best and came right back to form with a runaway win at Perth last time. This is a better race but now A Little Different has found his form he should go on to better things as he is very well treated on his bumper form.

On his second ever start he was only beaten about five lengths by subsequent Festival bumper winner Cork All Star with horses like Chomba Womba well beaten off. If he has anything like that ability left he will be very hard to catch today off his lowly mark and at Perth last time he suggested he was in very good heart.

i imagine lots of people do it, really its the limits allowed at bookmakers online which is the lmiting factor, is difficult getting sufficient on at the right price.i wouldnt mind have 5k on each bet but no way can mange that.. i also work the local shops when i get the chance as well... find i can get more on in cash

http://www.oddschecker.com/betting-tools/hedging-calculator.html this might be useful. What is the usual limit and is it hard to get big bucks on with betfair on pricewise selection lays?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 233 ✭✭curious guy

I would probably want fast internet and racing post membership ? Also any online bookie in particular with a high limit and are slow to drop there prices on pw selections that you may have noticed?

The problem is not with Betfair. Try actually getting £1000 on at 8/1 with a bookie.

its best if you subscribe to all 3 methods of receiving the xwise extra tips, webiste text and have the phone number rdy.....soon as 12 noon hits if havent come through on texts or webiste ring line.....put the tipping line on speakerphone for all to hear. have one desigted person call out the selection

dont need fast interet standard wiill do.......when startting out all bookies will allow easy £500 on any selection....listed on odds checker..make sure you have pc set up so can bet 1 click soon as receieve tip as you usually only have time to do 2 actions before odds crash. william hill slowest to cut i reckon though only talking about time of 30secs here compared others. all in all i reckon have 1 min to get on

best if you have 3 or 4 people in your control ....and 2 pcs`s...
2 people on pcs they each work 2 bookmakers, determine between yourself.
(ideal situation would be 8 people all in same room to work 16 bookies sites!!!)

1 person can work a telephone betting bookie and get one stake over the phone.

if in betting shop have hands free mobile and 1 ear piece need 2 hands to write. secure your position at counter in advance. time is tight

saturday sundays are really only days i do this now due to work comittments. besides i dont reckon weedays move as much cant rely on movment

make sure have sufficient funds in betfair to cover liablities taking todays example betfair liablities are 7.5k

and do not leave it to last min to trade out give self plenty of time ...rememeber betfair can go down...never never never alllow to turn in running..

if befair goes down make sure have betdaq ready and suffiencient capital ...hopefully everyone will pile over therre should that eventually arise..

if dont lay off remeebr you would lose the 1k trading stake absloute worse case.

laying off at betfair has never been problem yet

oh right thanks very helpful. This system might also work with tips from gary o brien and hugh taylor as odds on they 're selections usually shorten also.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 478 ✭✭Seanohea

This method would work for any popular tipster really. Although it definetley works better for likes of pricewise, pricewise extra and hugh taylor who usually pick big odds outsiders and the price usually shoots in between the tip being given and the race. I've tried it a few times with a couple of pricewise extra tipsters i don't really rate

Last month Segals longest losing run was 9 consecutive losers. I know this has no effect on whether the next one will win or not but it gives an idea of how much you need in your betting bank to follow all his bets.

    3.30 Windsor - Tiger Flash

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40 trader666

tiger flash was 4/1 plenty of sites paddy stanjames victor.....riich pickings for all lump on
ohh and theres a massive 1113 available to lay now @4.4

0 to 1100 bets inside 5mins.....good work people...keep forccing the odds down

1426 bets at 12.30pm...if we numbered 3000 people all betting minimum of 500 GBP could force it down even further and make more mo-honey. would be 1.5 million staked at 4/1

    Tiger Flash looks value
    at 4-1 in weak claimer
    Tiger Flash
    3.30 Windsor
    1pt win at 4-1 generally

There are doubts and question marks of one sort or another over most of those with the best form in this claimer, as often tends to be the case, but there's a good chance that Tiger Flash will run up to or close to his rating and make 4-1 look a decent price, writes Andrew Barr.

He actually meets the favourite Cloudesley on 3lb better terms than if this were a handicap, and while Cloudesley has often shaped as if likely to improve when upped to 1m2f, his stamina does remain unproven and he has tended to run in snatches.
Hip Hip Hooray and Navajo Nation are others favoured by the weights but with nagging stamina doubts, whereas Tiger Flash was a solid third in a 1m4f handicap last time out, and hopefully he can be given a positive ride to exploit that strength on ground that may well become slower given the possibility of rainfall in the area.
