I'm still confused by this. Why is this offensive? Have they not got more important things to worry about?

nope not offended actually find them quite hilarious.

another one that people get offended by is when someone asks can you keep a secret and you say yes and you write down word for word what they say to text everybody.

Really now who the hell can keep a secret especially when the topic is definitely of interest to people otherwise it wouldn't need to be a secret now would it

A few years ago in school a teacher caught me talking and told me to tell the whole class what I was saying. I told her it was just a stupid joke so then of course she really wanted to embarass me...

    So i said

"What do scottish sheep say? - McBaaa"

And she went CRAZY!!! Said I was racist and tried to give me lines!!!!

Hahahaha I still get a good laugh out of it!

    Jesus, that's feckin' ridiculous.

People who get offended when you refer to someone of African extraction as Black.

Have heard phrases such as "African American" being used to refer to a black person living in Ireland who incidentally was Kenyan and not American. Thought is was ignorantly amusing.

Unbelievable. What's wrong with saying 'black'?

People who get offended about other people not wanting kids

Yeah, or by people saying they don't like kids. "Oh my god, you monster, you horrible person!"

People that get offended by things like Christmas/Easter. Oh, we might offend someone of a different belief. Well, you know something? F*ck em! If you were in their neck of the woods, they wouldn't change anything for you. So f*ck off.

That's the most annoying thing ever. Why would a person of another religion care if Christians celebrate Christmas and Easter?

I have friends of different religions who actually thought it was incredibly surprised by that whole ''removing the crib from the hospital'' scandal. One said to me "Well, this is a Christian country, I expect you celebrate Christian holidays! Why would it offend me in anyway?" :pac: The same friend (Muslim) also puts up Christmas cards and such in his house if people give them to him. Not a problem with it at all.

The worst thing is people assume it's those of the other faiths kicking up a fuss, when in fact it's probably some ball-less official trying to seem cosmopolitan and tolerant.

The most stupid thing I ever heard was actually a thread on here in the Atheists and Agnostic forum where somebody was 'offended' by a Christmas stamp- with Jesus on it!:eek::eek::eek:

a teacher told me that he wasn't to refer to the blackboard as the "blackboard" but the chalkboard......

And isn't it true that Big Ears from Noddy got renamed White Beard....?

All seems a bit daft to me....

I really don't understand how women get on their high horse when you refer
to them as "she". It's happened a good few times.
When did that simple pronoun become an insult that women take offense at???

I hate it when people in a big office take offense at not being asked to lunch every day and then brood about it for a few weeks.

That reminds me of a joke:-

What’s the difference between a women and a terrorist??

I am always vastly amused by the explosions of fury over the title of someone chairing meetings etc. If it's a man he's the "chairman", but for some weird reason, if it's a woman she has to be referred to as the "chair" or "chairperson" and never, ever "chairwoman". Why do women see it as offensive to be called women, and prefer to be classed as a piece of furniture?

*or is it that they are piece of.........No. I'm not that brave. I withdraw that*

I despise the people who get all high and mighty when you use certain words they deem offensive. In a college debate a month back I refered to a film called ****** Joe and watched as the entire class turned against me. There's one black guy in the class and as such people deemed it a personnal attack on him. I had to listen to weeks of "You're a racist", "That was disgusting" from a few people in the class. Now had I turned to the black guy in my class and said "I hate ****" I would understand their anger but seriously some people seem to think that we should censor everything we say.

Edit: Just remembered the time I asked a black woman at the table beside me in a restraunt if she could pass the black pepper. herself and her friend went off on a massive rant about how I was being racist. She called over a waiter and demanded to be moved, both myself and the waiter pointed out that there was both white and black pepper on the table and it was in no way a racist comment.

    Hehehehe love remembering this story.

Few years ago worked in a clothes shop on the northside. One of the girls said she wouldnt date a northsider. THe entire shop was outraged, resulted in an argument a few days later, I was in the stock room but not taking part in argument. Came to a point where I really felt sorry for the girl so I siad "in fairness, I wouldn't go out with a traveller or a girl bigger than a size 8"

Que the girl who made the northside comment becoming outraged. She was around a size 12 and tall enough for it to look well and no one would call her fat. Type of girl who would get the description "curvy".

She said my opinion was *completely* different to hers, blaming me for anorexic girls and complained to a manager.

I don't think it's a case of being easily offended to consider that girl a gobshyte.

Aye, I can't really be too smug though, I only said it due to being slightly offended by her initial statement!

You probably shouldn't quote the bit where the scottish play was almost mentioned.
Unless, like me, you have a morbid sense of curiosity.

Constructive critism. Hell people are very touchy about that..... can't understand why....

Japanese porn. I don't see what's so offensive about thousands of hours of bondage porn, rape porn, utensil-rape porn, food-rape porn, frozen-food-rape porn, vomit-enema porn, elder-care-coma-patient-rape porn, live-eel anal porn and bukkake.

I get really annoyed when people get offended when I pass a remark about someone neither of us know.

For example, today we had a client in from a gym and she was pretty overweight, not a good poster child for the gym, and I flippantly said "Oh, it's yer one from the gym, the big fat one" Now, I didn't say it to her or when she was in the same building as me, but one of the girls got really offended by this. It wasn't said with malice or spite, and I didn't say it about the person who got offended. She has no place to be annoyed
