Looks like the end for Pugin Hall.

    sources (3)

1: A friend who works on campus, IFUT member, heard talk of it at branch.
2: A source who said she heard it from a worker in Pugin.
3: A tip off email to FEE from another unionised member of staff on campus.

Watch or act? We'll see what happens when more is known.

Yeah I was told that by a member of staff before the midterm. She's working there 32 years. She said (this is the general gist anyway) that Pats wanted the NUIM students out... Dunno how true that is though.

As a staff member I'm unlikely to be stung by this (are they really going to keep it Pats only, 7 priests and a dog for lunch) but the college needs to provide somewhere for students to buy affordable food and it needs to do it quickly!

Pugin hall gone.......? Say it aint so!!!!

So that means no where affordable to buy a decent lunch on campus AND specifically absolutely nowhere on south campus. I'm not including O'Briens in the library.

What about us smelly lifetime postgrads/part time staff??

Surely they could throw a deep fryer into the new shed beside Callan? Or are the current generation too good for the rye....

Nothing to do with Pats me thinks, more likely the catering company. Not wise for a Uni to do ALL its food via a private company now is it? Food has always been a rip off in Maynooth, and now there could be none. Hopefully this will p/ss people off enough to actually demand something of the University, can we really be the only Irish University without a space selling hot food?

I walked past the computer hub-thing in Callan yesterday and every person on every computer was on facebook - either browsing or playing a game*

Ladies, gents, I need ideas. I have Sunday off work. That's right, I have a Sunday off work without having to beg for it. They're going to ask me to work, but I'll refuse. I want to do something, some sort of daytrip, any suggestions? The bf wants to go to Holyhead for the day, but that seems like a lot of effort!

go do a horse riding lesson. there's a few schools between maynooth and leixlip.

See how many meaningful posts you can contribute to as many threads on boards as possible? (theres approx 1250 fora by the way)

    take a trip to gendalough

take a trip to newgrange (mightnt be open on sunday though)

Go to the Toys 4 Boys show in the RDS (tickets are 2 for 1 at the minute, Pm me and I'll send you my voucher code :) ).
