    "A Celebration of Classic Horror Stories"

    Culture Night - Friday 23rd of Sept, 7.30pm
    Blanchardstown Library (ph. 890 5563)

    A talk about the world's greatest classic horror stories given by Librarian Alan Dunne and artist & illustrator Jonathan Barry. Jonathan Barry has illustrated many classic horror stories including Dracula, Frankenstein, Jekyll & Hyde and many more.

    Alan and Jonathan will be discussing their lifelong passion for horror fiction and will give a general introduction to some of the world's greatest Gothic masterpieces.

    This talk on horror literature will range the entire gamut of the genre from its popular beginnings with the Gothic fiction of the 18th Century to the current practitioners of the field such as Stephen King and Ramsey Campbell.

    All are welcome to attend this free event!

    Dickens in Dublin - One Man Show
    To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens' birth Blanchardstown Library presents "Dickens in Dublin" on Thursday February the 16th at 6.30pm. In this hour long show, actor Laurence Foster, will recreate Dickens visit to Dublin in 1858. His observances on Dublin are punctuated with complementary dramaatised scenes from his books.
