    And Jensen.

Trucks and buses yes, before and during the war, but tractors? Not as far as I know unless you are referring to the Harry Ferguson four wheel drive system designed for the FF.

Yes Ferguson 4x4, (tongue in cheek)

Yes, the Jensen FF (Ferguson Formula ), twin side vents and slightly longer ( IIRC - without checking Wiki :P !) The FF was also applied to the Mk1 Capri and Zephyr for the police , again IIRC !

    Now to Wiki -
The letters FF stand for Ferguson Formula, after Ferguson Research Ltd., who invented the car's four-wheel drive system. The FF is related to the similar-looking, rear-wheel drive Jensen Interceptor, but is 127 mm (5.0 in) longer, and mechanically very different.

The use of four-wheel drive in a passenger car preceded the successful Audi Quattro by many years, and the Subaru by five years.

The Ferguson Formula was first used in a CV8, of which only one was produced:

I wonder could you make a few bob just collecting scrap, part out what's salvagable into a central repository for the model ( Say Daimler parts in Wolverhampton or W123 parts in Bad Sindlingen ) and we wouldn't have to put up with ads like this

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/vintagecars-for-sale/daimler-jaguar-250-shell-year-1968-for-restoration/8127210
A restorable rusted 250 daimler shell, doors and bonnet are fine ,sills wheel arches and boot lid ,just need a lick of paint and your grand (I jest).
A lot of work for an enthuestiastic workaholic with the glorious end product as his main focus , a test of will and objurate stubourness  is all that is required.

So who is going to be the lucky new owner  at in or around €900 predestined to escalate into the realms of £25000 when completed on the UK market.

an engine and auto gear box would be an optional extra. :D

    Call seller - felippe

I'm sure there must be many specialist breakers in Ireland without having to go overseas. ( The late Joe Headon's 'attic' was a treasure trove of US car parts - unfortunately it would be a 3 hour trawl through old tea chests to find a suitable starter motor :( )

Maybe DD would consider splitting their Vintage & Classic Cars into a parts section also ??

I've sent them the following, if anyone agrees with me you can cut n paste this to save you time and send it to 'Feedback and suggestions' in the 'Contact us' part of DD :)
In the 'Car Extras section there are subsections for Wheels /Tyres / Accessories. Would it be possible to do a 'Vintage and Classic parts' subsection in the Vintage and Classic cars part of DD as there are a lot of people who need parts for these old cars but it can be a long trawl to seperate cars from car parts for these old cars

    Ugly car

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/141474049149

Here the seller's 'legal terms'
MY CONDITIONS - VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ !!!
Please do not ask what the reserve is--this is an auction. The title is free and clear and ready to be signed over, US buyers have to go through DMV. No trades are accepted and I reserve the right to end the auction early for any reason whatsoever. If you have no feedback or more than 3% negative fb, I will cancel your bid automatically before auction's end if you don't contact me to get clearance to bid--no exceptions! This shouldn't be a problem for most of you, but I must ascertain if you are a serious bidder or not, as I don't want to list the car again.

All prospective purchasers agree that this description is solely for convenience, and is not part of any contract of sale for the vehicle. My description is my opinion only, and should not be considered a complete description of any or all faults, and may not be relied upon, taken as fact or otherwise considered a representation or warranty or any sort. The car is sold as-is, where-is with all faults known or unknown. These should only be considered the ramblings of a guy who likes cars. Please see the car in person or send a representative for inspection. A pre-purchase inspection is strongly encouraged and I can happily take the car to one of the well-known nearby shops if you organize and pay for a PPI. Remember, this is a used car; it is not showroom new. I may have forgotten things that are important to you. That’s why you should send someone to inspect this or any car you are considering purchasing. I apologize for this lawyerly disclaimer, but we live in strange times.

Even though I have attempted to identify all the flaws I know of; please realize you are buying a used car, and so you should not expect it to be exactly like a showroom new car! There may be minor flaws or features of the car that I did not catch, I just cannot possibly cover every detail that might be a concern to every buyer. The car comes with no warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied. Like all cars, you should expect normal wear and tinkering given it's age and mileage. Neither I nor the car have anything to hide, but we cannot possibly know everything that might be of concern to you. We'll be happy to accommodate your request to view the car in person. All sales are final and bidding on this auction constitutes acceptance of these terms in their entirety.

You are bidding to buy this car, not to have the right to take a look at it! Your bid is a legal binding contract, and feedback will be left on the winning bidder, good or bad, depending on your actions. I simply do not tolerate bidders who do not step up to the plate and will pursue them to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Payment: A non-refundable Paypal deposit of $250 is due IMMEDIATELY after the winning bid, just to weed out the bidders up to no good. If that doesn't happen, the auction will run it's course. (Thanks for that option, eBay!) Certified check, M/O, wire transfer, or cash only for the remainder and due within 7 days of auction close or the buyer will forfeit it’s rights for the car and it will be relisted. Full payment must clear my bank before pick-up is even attempted. The car must be picked up within 14 days of auction close or you are able to arrange something else with me. Please email me if you have questions that are not covered by the narrative or pictures. Thanks and good luck!

God Bless America and all our BRAVE guys out there!

    HAVE A NICE DAY :D

Lord, about 10 years ago you couldnt give those cars away. You would see them regularly on autotrader for under 10K. Mags use to do stupid features like "Buy a Ferrari for Mondeo money!" They neglected to tell you that you would be selling it a month later for Fiesta money.

Still, I'd rather pony up the few grand extra for a 456.

Ah now I don't think its that ugly? For a Rolls Royce it was pretty cutting edge. I remember getting a 'remote' control toy of one of them for Christmas back in the early eighties I suppose. It had a wire to a controller with the batteries and a steering wheel!
The red lettering on the badge looks odd. I thought they all had black lettering since the thirties?

the 505 will be popular because it would be a very nice to own very usable classic.
the 504 is the very definition of a classic in my book.
pity I've no room, use or money for any of them though.
