If these can be sold for 500 a pop, I will make a few!

I'd swear this was 1850 this morning by same seller ...now 8 k

Was slightly tempted at 1850 but then remembered how slow smelly and noisey they are 0- 60 about 24 seconds

Because on a ROS VRT calculator query will show a Revenue OMSP with a figure in that ball park before depreciation is factored in.

My Volvo comes up with a OMSP of €15290 with a depreciation code E1

    A RHD Glof (s/c 40689277) would have a OMSP of €15350 with d/c of B2.

LHD vehicles get 25% lopped off, hence the figure of 11512.

It has no real relevance with a car over 30 years old, as it isn't used. But the depreciation tables (section 8 of the VRT manual), have a depreciation adjustment percentage based on age/depreciation code.

So as a quick example for a 29yo car they would take €15290 and on a 13-30 yo vehicle with an E1 code (4%), comes up with a value of €612, then might make minor adjustments for condition/mileage on top of that.

    In the second case €15350 @ 7% gives €1075.

Both these examples fall below the arbitrary €2K minimum OMSP.

They have a calculator for that.

You see this..... it's in Rosslare....

    tumblr_lu2d5na06n1qgoq0jo1_500.jpg

Every ball in that pit has a random amount printed on it between €200 and €100,000. When you send in an application they send a 4 year old down the chute, they throw the first ball they find up to Mr. VRT who is standing waiting at the side and that's how much VRT you pay. (at least that's my experience with them anyway :().

    No they wouldn't , it's 14 years from being a classic, however would suit a classic transplant.Full-18916146.jpeg

    Lazy git!

    Based on 4 years - €1051.9 + €720 = €1771.90 VRT + up to €6381 in motor tax.
    From date of UK tax disc expiring, around 6yr 6mths ago - €1723.68 + €720 = €2443.68 VRT + up to €11972 motor tax.

Somewhere in between those examples. (Motor tax is approx as I've only tables going back to 2009 rates. I think before that it was 1487 for a full year or thereabouts).

I make no judgement, just passing on the calculations in the hypothetical case.
