Shane O'Connor beat Frank Kelly in the final. I'm sure Carrickman will have the full details.

If you dont mind me asking ya mate how many darts would you be finishing on consistently to be doing well in this tournament, what was the standard in the final like ie rough averages???Unlucky anyways mate on saturday

Hard to know with the double start but you would be in the mid 70s in the semis and the final.

  • Registered Users Posts: 323 ✭✭whaaames

didnt know it was a double start, suppose that evens out the advantage of the throw a smal bit...

and shane o'connor, what would he be averaging..? low 80s maybe..??

Possibly a small bit higher. Dont let this put anyone off giving it a go. Getting out and playing in these comps is the only way to lift your game to another level. The bloke I played in the first round on Sat. was telling me he is a lurker on here and it was his first time playing outside of his house. For his first time out he played ok and I hope he sticks with it because you will really notice an improvement after a few weeks of playing against a good standard of player.

Like I said, no one should be nervous about getting out and playing in comps, they will be a huge benefit to your game in the long run. Also, the format really evens it out, there's a few times Shane could have and should have been beaten.

ah i will give it a go, i really wanna have a go one week it's just trying to organise the saturday off work, but having said that it would be my first time playin in a competition in a pub, so i suppose me nerves would play up a small bit,i played in a mickey mouse darts thing in my club ages ago but wouldn't be bothered with the ****heads i would've playin with...when i play in me room i always average 68,69,70 over 6/7 sets but i know i'd never produce that in front of people...

what exactly is the format for this competition, like how many rounds does there usually be and how many people etc..?

Went down for the first time myself in saturday past, was nervous and threw a load of rubbish, was chatting to a few people and they said the only way to get better in front of people is to come down and throw.

Will be back in the next one and i know it can only get better, plus its a good excuse to get a few pints in.
