Below freezing despite being totally overcast, roads are dry thankfully and very little visible frost even on roofs , cars etc, air bone dry.
Currently -1.3°C up from -1.7°C earlier. With clear skies tonight would have had some nice low temps for sure.

Some cloud has rolled in here and thus risen the temp to -1.2c

Currently -5.7c, lowest temp of the year so far. Interestingly, I recorded my lowest temp of last year on the morning of the 6th of Jan also (-6.4c). Hope this is not a prelude to another crap year ahead weatherwise in 2009 as it was in 2008. :rolleyes:

Edit: 9.03am. Temp rose to -4.2c over the last hour but back down to -5.3c now. Bright morning, yet not as much frost as recently, probably due to lower humidity.

Met E reporting a no. of -5s around the place atm and NRA reporting -8.0c at Monaghan.

Was -1.3 when I was leaving home at 7:30 this morning but no frost to clear from car. Drove down past Abbeyleix about 9am where the car thermo was reporting -5.5. Beautiful frosty fields and trees!

Sure enough as predicted, no frost here.

We had a fresh breeze all night and some cloud so no visible frost but a lot of ice.

Temp was up to 2.4c here but light west breeze (1.5mph) has kicked in and temp now back down to 1.8c - breeze is obviously blowing the colder air to me.

I wouldn't like to bet on snow under those conditions! I saw Edinbrugh had rain with 0c and DP of -3c earlier - imagine the frustration of that!!!

Ehhh....that didn't last long - breeze has picked up to 7mph and temp is up to 2.7c now.

Max so far 2.7C, currently 2.3C Dp -5.1C mainly cloudy. If that max is not exceeded before 9am tomorrow it would be lowest max since Dec 2000 here.
